I agree w/ Eurofan on so many fronts on this. Now, I'm not saying every Mercedes/BMW/Audi/etc.. is unbelievably cool/fast/whatever, but (generally speaking) they do have an advantage over many of the japanese cars that were talked about in that they are not wrong wheel drive (aka FWD), but are instead RWD/AWD a lot of the time.
Yes, the S2K, Miata, WRX/STi, Evo, Genesis, etc... are great cars and probably even better around the track than similarly priced German cars, but you can't really argue that even a base 3 series won't outperform a base Civic/Accord/Camry and probably even IS300 (which is the closest of the group to being in the same category as a 3 series). But we are comparing to apples to sasquatches at that point as they really aren't on the same playing field....in fact Japan (for the most part) doesn't really even have a luxury sport car to compete with the M3 that I can think of (and I'm sure I probably forgot some which will be pointed out to me).
I think that is what Eurofan and thrash were talking about.

Thank you.
I am not trying to be a "Tooshed" "Eurodouche"But honestly admit it... They are faster cars from the factory.
+1 on the comparing apples and oranges. So true

There is no denying that. But like I said before... For every ZR1, GTR, and CTS-V there are 15 german cars that can do it just as good...Can you name these 15 german cars?

I agree w/ Tin here, waiting for 15 german cars that can keep the pace in stock format with a GTR or ZR1....at any price point
