H22 are heavier(only slightly), aftermarket support is waaayyy less and so parts are more expensive, H's tend to be harder to swap depending on the chassis, why have barely any of the respectable honda tuning companies put H22's in their race cars..... I guess the list goes on, I've just never really been a fan. I'm a big supporter of keeping things simple and cheap.

i think ur wayyy off from what he was thinking still...

I'm thinking he's referring to the use of FRM cylinder walls from the factory...

Ah thats right, aren't those really weak from the factory and require special sleeves or something?

Well the fact that you can't run aftermarket pistons with them is a bit of a downfall. They are reasonably strong stock, but if you want to run forged internals, you need to resleeve it.

They are a decent motor because they are pretty cheap, and can make decent power, but Im not a supporter either.

And Wes, Sleeves actually do require a very good machinist that knows what they are doing and has a lot of experience (not that it is impossibly hard, but it is a LOT more than boring a block, milling a head, or even o-ringing). I have seen blocks from the big name companies that have had serious issues, fortunately these have pretty much all been figured out over the years, or those companies are no longer around, but I would definately not trust my block to just any machine shop that says they can do it, much better off sending it to a company that does it every day.

QFT. As soon as you start the motor up and get some boost on it if anything blows up no motor shop around here is going to take liability for it. Get it done at a place that is known for their sleeving and can back up their work. /thead
