Is there a law that specifically states the controls must be on the left hand side of the car? I can't see any reason there would be.

Well, I care a lot to see how this turns out since I'd rock the shit out of an R32 GT-R if I thought I could get away with it. I was just trying to make clear to anyone that might not know... about what kind of spikes are covering the torture dildo uncle sam will shower-rape you with if he gets wind of this and decides to flex.
If you insurance company is willing to write you a liability policy on a car that has never been crash tested in the US, and you didn't lie to them about anything when registering it, then that is awesome, and makes doing this a lot more plausible.
I don't disagree with the assessment that we've got someone pioneering something awesome. I hope it works out and that nobody gets screwed. I hope to be a lame skyline bandwagoner someday
I also don't think anyone could give a shit about RHD cars or conversions that were based on body styles that actually passed FMVSS tests and have US VINs. THis will have no bearing on RHD or RHD-swap cars.

No laws about rhd cars. But just so everyone knows that any rhd converted car has to have a saftey check after it is done by the highway patrol. If it does not look safe or proffesional they will not pass. (That's what the office just told me at the highway patrol office) so those of you doing/done the swap your car is as illegal as mine!

And as you said there nothing that says it's illegal to be rhd. Now getting an inspection that's old news. still doesn't make it illegal. People clip cars everyday, the car still has a LEGAL vin and has been registered legally.
