since im sure none of you get this far south, if you had any idea how much water is south of breck/wahp in the bois de soix basin you would be getting your asses in gear. Put it this way, you are totally fucked. I would start planning on either large walls, or start cleaning out the basement, and just expecting to shut down the house and move out for a couple weeks.

In 97 we had 6" of water in front of our house, we are preparing to push up a 1-2' dike around the house already, In fact there was so much water last fall our yard flooded from rain 6 times. Never before has this happened

      haha.

so fucked, despite that the percentages from februarys forecast and todays have gone down.

(even though i know not to put any stock into whatever the NWS says)

yep, predictions went down... but like that means anything... The paper today basically said in a nut shell that it is not going to be like last year... we will see... here is the latest predictions anyways...

About a week or so ago, the white rock dam was flowing more than I've ever seen it flow. However, I heard they are drawing down the reservoirs so that's likely why it was flowing so much.

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

they're drawing down all the reservoirs in the area. I think ashtabula is coming down 5-7'.

                20% - 40.6
                10% - 42.7

so over all they went down about a foot...

Compared to Feb 19th. And all these are taken off the actual text file the NWS puts out. As it is easier to get the actual numbers compared to off the graph.

                70% - 37.0
                60% - 37.8
                50% - 38.6

                20% - 41.0
                10% - 43.7

so the smallest drop is at the 40% mark at a drop of 0.2 ft... and largest drop is at the 70%/60% marks at a drop of 1.1 ft... The average across the board is about a foot... But like i said, it doesnt really matter til stuff actually starts happening...

It's the rain and speeding up the melting process of the snow... notice we went from 3-4 feet of snow on snow banks to being able to see grass in some points in a matter of 3-4 days?

yes, the rain has melted a LOT of this snow and the more open dirt we have the warmer it gets and the faster it melts. I've also noticed a number of ditches in south fargo that are backed up with water also. I about imagine most of the watershed is like that. Once everything opens up there is going to be a bunch of water heading to the river in a hurry.

And forecast doesn't look to be dropping below freezing in the next week or more.

im talking on the main roads where you dont have pull out half way into the street anymore that theres hardly any snowbank left.

my driveway still has a towering snow bank. the rain isn't going to do anyone favors when it comes to flood levels, but we haven't gotten enough to go into panic mode.

if you want to, go ahead.

my driveway still has a towering snow bank. the rain isn't going to do anyone favors when it comes to flood levels, but we haven't gotten enough to go into panic mode.
