Best OBD2 PC Scan Tool??
-
My birthday is coming up and I'm looking to buy a PC scan tool for OBD2. What's the best value out there?
I'm looking at http://www.scantool.net/obdlink.html It's bluetooth-ready so I can connect to it on my Droid with VoyagerConnect http://gtosoft.webs.com/ourproducts.htm
Anther option is something that interfaces with Devtoaster for my ipod http://www.devtoaster.com/products/rev/index.html
Does anyone have any experience with either of these? Are there other good pc interfaces out there for under $200? Is there any good software that can give you tuning capabilities? I looked a little online but there's a lot of BS out there - looking for someone with first-hand advice.
Thanks

This is the scanner I have, not sure how much you can do on the pc with it but it has the common usb plug. I can tell how much pc interfacing it does after I fix any one of the three broken usb ports on my laptop, or bring home my other laptop.

I paid way under retail, I have had it for about four years and only complaint is when it is -40 the screen is a little slow, lol. I only use it for monitoring and read/ clear codes though, not sure what else it does.

We use the little bit lower down versions of these for checking codes at work, they work great, and I really like them.. as for tuning and stuff i have no idea.. Never had too much of a problem in cold temps, although the life of them for us probably isnt as long as normal since its used more in a day than most ppl would use it in months (unless they have a really shitty car, lol)

I've got the same one. I have yet to actually connect it to the computer though. I like it because it will read live data on OBD1 Fords and Chryslers. It will do OBD1 GM as well but I have yet to actually work on one of those. It will do all of the cylinder balance and other tests on the Fords and input/output checks on the Chryslers.
