seeking inexpensive 4x4 <$2500

One of my co-workers is looking for an inexpensive 4x4. It sounds like he's more interested in some kind of truck, like a 4runner (probably for snow clearance). He would like to keep the price no higher than $2500, and his second selling point is that it must be running.

my gf is selling a 94 s10 blazer if interested its custom painted and runs great with alot of new parts its not a 4x4 but has studded snow tires and never gets stuck.... lmk

I mentioned both of these to him, and it sounds like he might be running into financial aid issues this semester. As much as I'd like to give one of you a positive answer, it looks like he may be pretty drained for a while.
