lmfao that is kinda true. i saw a blue one in town thats stock. i think im gunna swap a b16 or b15 into it. im not to sure yet. this would also be the first swap i ever do. right now im just gunna fix the head gasket so it does not smoke anymore. then im throwing a cat back on to it. but as any project it takes especially when you have next to nothing to spend on it. if anyone has some cheap used parts just let me know by pm.

Talked to my buddy matt tonight he said to put a D16yz in. He said not to go above that with like a B or anything said I would twist the shit out of the car if I did more then that. Don't really know if that's true or not.

What motor would be the best to but in the 89 with the least amaount of work? Or is it an easy thing to but a B in. Also would I have to change the tranny or would the stock one work?

You need to start by going to www.honda-tech.com. Read everything you can concerning swap and build threads, then ask questions.

A B series in an EF is fairly easy since there are so many good how to guides out there. A B16 would be a nice start as they are starting to come pretty cheap now a days. Do you research and then decide for yourself.

your stock (d series) transmission will not work. If this is your only car and you want to start modding it, get a daily driver as well. best mod for a car ever, another car.
