I'm going to go out on a limb and say the Stealth needs 3rd gear synchros.

At first I did it for fun, then I realized I made the investment and had to do it!

That's the plan, but I need to get a place with a garage first, then round up the funds for a bead roller and english wheel. The floors are non-existent but the price was right from a good friend, as well as being pretty damn cool.

$3300 and dropping till it sells. I don't mean to turn this into a classified, so PM me if you're interested.

Nailed it. Experienced 3S'er or craigslist guru?

The blue one was my daily until we had a little accident. White one is a parts truck I picked up in DL and flat towed down to Rochester. Currently building a new engine for the trusty blue one, as after 275K the timing chain is stretched and it was feeling a bit weak when I took it to Vail last winter.

A little bit of both I guess lol. I have to admit I did see it on craigslist, BUT I know how "good" the first gen trannys are in the 3/s cars :). My buddy has a black 1g Stealth with 13g's and has a REALLY bad 3rd gear. Ordered, I think, THREE JDM "good" trannys and they were all junk too. All problems aside, they have some seriously linear power with the 13gs. Supposedly, the motors make more power with the same mods as a 2JZ, so they aren't all bad. Just a BITCH to work on lol

Yessir. You're one of a couple familiar names on here.
Also, you just about have him talked into a roadtrip to Ohio - he needs to kick that TransAm down the road.

By far my favorite all-around vehicle so far. I'd like to go with a supercharged 3.8 some day, but I absolutely refuse to give up the stick - and that poses some problems.

Glad I'm not the only one that sees the turd for the classyness that lies beneath the turdiness.
