Now that they have been out for a bit, and we have been able to see how they stack up on the track and street, and how well they have been holding up (some of them not so much) which modern American Muscle car would you rather have? For this lets refer to the V8 naturally aspirated models only. I'm leaving out the Charger because it's a 4 door now.. If you want, include a post stating your reasons for picking one particular car over another..

    Mustang GT
    Camaro
    Challenger R/T

I'd naturally lean towards the mustang but with reading about the massive numbers of re-calls over an apparently weak 6spd transmission, that kinda scares me.

Yea, i was going for the base model ones, the ones you see on the street the most.

            Fair enough.

I chose the challenger r/t, and I made my choice purely on looks being we are only doing "base models"

Well none of those cars are really "base models", as i said they weren't the V-6's. I didn't think the SRT8 stood a chance when compared with the other "top of the line" model in the GT500, so i wanted it as close as possible. And all of these cars are pretty close to the same price range, with the Mustang being the cheapest, then the Camaro, then the Challenger...

arent the new ford coyote engines having problems blowing up? I think the camaro is probably the best option. but if you had another option I would pick the charger srt-8 or
                cts-v.

theres a lot of options on the market nowadays, but it wont be long before the modern muscle car is gone just like it was once before. From liberals to insurance agencies.

The new Camaro has really grown on me so I think I'd have to choose that.
Plus there's a Trans-Am and Firebird conversion available for them. 🙂

Not that I've heard. There was a bunch of talk prior to the Coyote release that they wouldn't hold up to power because they weren't a forged motor. Instead they've shown a ton of potential.

I'd say the Mustang. Definitely not the camaro based on how often we'd get used ones on the lot at Corwin from people trading into Challengers.

I also like that they didn't require bailout money, but to say that they don't owe the US Government a large chunk of money for guaranteed loans that they currently have on the books is incorrect as well.

Other options are sweet, but Mustang and later add Boss 302 intake with 7500 rpm tune 😛

Mustang has the best blend of price, performance, and looks. Its not the best looker or the fastest but it does all of it so well its not even a competition.

Exactly what I was going to say and add Sean Hyland sells a supercharger kit using the TVS blower like the ZR1 and makes 605hp as reliably as stock.

The reason the mustang scared me away was that i've read there have been alot of recalls, and warranty claims on the car with very low mileage...

As opposed to the Chevrolet you can't see out of, or the bloated cow that is the Challenger. I'd still take my chances with the Mustang.

the challenger is a dissapointment in my book as well. but i just havent heard a lot of positives on the new 5.0. yeah you can mod it all you want and put up power numbers but i keep seeing stuff about the reliability that doesnt look positive. you may not be able to see out of the camaro but you dont have to when your ahead of everyone else. lol.
