As some have you have gazed upon my half finished cars exterior, you know I have a silver LSx camaro. Might as well make a build thread

It was quite totaled

So i was up for a challenge, I started to fix it. Never having done this before, whats the worst that could happen

First time painting, I screwed up the front fenders, which will be fixed sometime but for now it looks like shit.

My perfectly fitting hood, LOL, will be replaced which is why you have seen it unpainted for a year
The factory suspension leaves a little to be desired, is it a 4wd?

I hope you destroy that hood and dont try to sell it to some unsuspecting idiot. That hood is a huge pile of shit, glad you are finally getting rid of it.

SPRINGS!

Up to this point, it had some boltons, headers and exhaust, lid, 4.10 gears and a PTC 4500 stall converter.

It was a blast to drive but I had once again gathered a pile of parts. So....

legacy image
legacy image

Ported heads, milled to death. 238/246 cam, 13:1 compression, and E85. Shortly after I Also switched to a 3800 stall PTC converter, as with the new power the old 4500 turned into a 5500
Little idle vid

Like this the car ran a 13.000@114 on the street tires at a street legal day. I literally was spinning clear through most of 2nd gear.

SO, i bought some drag radials, and new rims

legacy image
legacy image

With that being the one and only change, the car ran 11.4@120 and i wasnt even pushing it. Still using the LS1 intake which is the most restrictive model there is, and a less than optimal exhaust setup. There is more to be had

Though I could have done so much more with that setup, my stupidity and good deals got the best of me

Light K-member, 35# of weight savings and so much easier to work on

LS1 back on the floor once again!
legacy image

These showed up out of nowhere?
legacy image

Then this fell out of the sky
legacy image

378" of forged LS3 bottom end. Running the same heads and cam as that is what I spec'd the cam for when I bought it. This is
Mahle 4.075 forged pistons
Scat 6.125" h-beam rods
stock crank
Good Ls2 style timing set
the 243 heads that I did some more porting on
Cometic 4.085x.040 head gaskets
EPS 238/246 .608" 111+3 cam
BTR dual springs, ti retainers
stock rockers with Comp trunion bearing upgrade

It works out to be 14.15:1 compression, and around 10.55:1 dynamic compression. This will be backed up with a FLT trans stage 5 4l60e with all the good parts, and around a 5000 stall converter

Looks good Gary! Let me know when you need a drive shaft. I opened up a new shop right by Tintmasters.

I wanna go fast!

So this is the harness, it sucked big time to do, but it looks so much better. all done up in heat sleeving an no more corrugated plastic loom, god i hate that shit. I need to pick up a couple parts since I broke 2 of the small metal injector terminals. But its basically done and as good as I could get it. Think I have about $45 in heat shrink in this and have enough left to do a good amount of the engine bay harness as well. Wasnt planning on it but in the back of my mind I could hear Jim telling me "that wiring is fucking garbage" and I didnt want to go through that hours long teasing session

Got the longblock together this weekend. Need to get a couple small parts and have the intake milled this week.
