Yeah someone needs to race scherling... he yelled out his window sat night to drake saying SLOW then he sped off... we caught up to him and he turns off and wouldnt race. Then later that night he comes after me wanting to race me. Whats that pussy run anyway mid 14's?

93 RX-7... not sure on the year. Riced out body kit and some gunmetal rims I think. From what I have heard he only has a cat-back because he wants to keep his warranty, and he has gone through a couple of motors already. Stupid people shouldnt drive rotary cars.

i agree and disagree with you on this. the 3rd gen rx7 has a lot of potential, with the right driver. as with any car, the driver can make all the difference, so it's not to unexpected that an average joe in a car with such a huge power band (such as the rx7) would lose to a car that the same driver might hit 15s with.
it's like when i first started driving my dsm, i lost to an old escort gt because i didn't understand the concept of downshifting (man, i was STUPID back then).

No I do not have a smoke or whatever plate frame. That's the beauty of my shiftronic, unlike most autos, I can be in 1st doing 25-30 at high rpms. Downshifting is fun...

Kirk did say a WHOLE trd exhaust....and 280rwhp would not own this area, not even freakin close. The hp rating doesnt mean a whole lot when you put it into perspective. Dave's 600(last i was infromed anyways) or so hp supra does better then most 1000hp supras. I would not be afraid to say I move somewhere in the vicinity of 380hp and I am no where close to "owning this area."
edit: I overlooked the part about mods...but the HP statement still applies. I have not read about many 11 sec rx-7s...which is what it would take (at minimum) to "own this area."

I do agree the car is very over rated. Hell they like to blow up often. I personally dont care for the RX-7 or 8 for that matter. Miatas are nice but from what I was told his was barely modified and smoked him pretty good. I wouldnt race him for money unless I had some mods which at the current point in time im un-modified. And even when im modified he probably wouldnt do it anyway.

a 3rd gen rx-7 comes with around 255 hp stock i believe. rx-8 is somewhere around 235 or so. id much rather take an rx-7 over an 8, but id much much rather have my talon than the rx-7.
i pulled up next to that kid at the light on the intersection of 25th and 17th. we made eye contact and went for it. i really hope that he wasnt actually racing.. 'cause i COMPLETELY owned him. i was at least 2 car lengths ahead of him by the time i hit 70.
i know the people who own a shop where he gets his car fixed. everyone that works there says its a POS. nothing special at all.

while i agree that i would take my dsm over an rx7 (until i get bored of it), the rx7 is still nothing to ignore. with a good driver and good setup (motor, suspension and tires), the rx7 can launch much better than a lot of cars out there.

rx-7s are definitely badass... just not so much in the hands of people who dont know anything about them. from what ive heard, a rotary is a lot different to drive and if you dont know what youre doing, you can easily cause a lot of damage to it. personally ive never driven one, but id love to take one out for a day...
i assume that was an awd talon that got owned off the line in the vid?

One of my good friends from Minot has a 94 tt rx7 that doesn't run as of now. But it was running 13.1s in Rock Falls 2 years ago on bald street tires, and 60fts that were around the 2.3 - 2.4 range due to lack of traction. That same car on a prepped track in Minot was cutting 1.8s on the same tires.
We blew it up last year with a single turbo conversion, however it's hopefully going to be alive sometime when he gets off his ass. (Built motor waiting, single turbo still, just needs an IC and a clutch, and his trans finished). In the hands of the right people w/ the right parts they are amazing cars.
There is a pic of his turbo. Next biggest one is Troy's old Frank 4 from turbochargers.com, and the smallest one was a "puppy" from DSM performance.

Yeah its tru i am a ricer...lol. But at least I don’t drive a Ford. Anyway yeah i wanted to keep my warranty is that so bad? Cuz if my car breaks it cost alot to fix and id rather enjoy my car havin a stock engine than be fast and have it sit on blocks. Couple of motors hu, man i wish that Lunde would quit sneeking thous motors in my car without me knowin.... But the warranty is up now so i am starting to mod it slowly to do it right. But it will never be as fast as everyone thinks it should be cuz its my daily driver and id rather drive it everyday and be slower than drive it never and have it be fast. The place where i get my car fixed at hu, where would that be? Lunde? no it wouldn’t be Lunde cuz Marty the only rotary mechanic there loves my car and helps me to keep it runnin good. So your wrong there. And if you mean Type R your also mistaken, cuz you said "everyone that works there" last time i checked it was a one man operation, and yeah he also loves my car and knows it runs good. And thous are the only 2 places that have touched my car. Now Jeff’s 7, he had some problems when he first bought it but i think hes got them strained out now. Maybe they meant his car? I dont even know who you are, is your car a white DSM, Nicks old one? or do you have one of the many maroon 2g's. I remember that white one and both of us didn’t even get on it off the line, or at least i didnt. But i was pullin on that 1g so i let off right away, and it kept goin. Aaron was behind me. Ask him. If you have that 2g no i was not tryin to race you, if you got on it thats kinda sad.
Well all in all your all right in your own way, the 7's are very temperamental, and moding them has to be done carefully. Cuz with just my cat-back and midpipe on i am right on the edge of boost cut. So i need to buy an ECU before i can even put my intake back on or the downpipe i have also. And yeah i dont like to race in town if i do race cuz i am really close to losing my license if i haven’t already cuz i have a ticket still in processing. Look at Steven he had a really fast 2g Talon all done up and it was only at the track once. Rag on him for never racing. Sorry Steve-o just tryin to make my point. I know in ur old age racing might have bad effects on ur heart, lol hey you asked for it.

We raced and we saw the outcome, just kind of impressed, whether it be the piss poor performance that creeped out of yours, or the semi decent "rolling" performance out of mine. Heck Jim beat me from a roll, though I would like a rematch since I'm not running pig rich right now.
SVT vs Rx7 - sounds like a race that is extremely lop sided but I think it'd be interesting. What do ya say Scherling? You don't wanna run me, so run the hatchback
P.S should be all in your favor man, so I don't know why you would turn it down. The SVT is completely bone stock, now of course this is all if and only if Rob wants to race. But I got a feeling he'd be more then anxious to give you a run
