why do you say there is no contest? If you think about it, do research, the STi is putting out more power and torque stock, but the Evo handles better. Both have their ups and downs.

I voted the EVO just cause i drive one... but personally i would take the STi probably just cause the MR is couple grand more for nothing... the 2 cars are identical in everything and just have different bodies.. i think at least so i dunno

evo = handles better, looks better(to me), and its kinda like a dsm hehe...sti stock will beat a evo in the 1/4, but i bet for cheaper you can make an evo faster...in the end, evo owns all, btw, u wanna give me your yellow evo beings that u dont like it so much? i'll trade ya straight up for my dsm 😉

I'm still learning with my STi, but it's hard to imagine a better car right now. What good does the extra handling gonna do you around Fargo????!!! Torque and HP baby is where it's at. Ooooh, I can take the I94 to I29 exit 2 mph faster ooooooooo. Nevermind I can blast out of it with 300lbs of torque and hp like a rabid frenzied dog on crack once I get to where I can get on it. The MR maybe a better "track" car, but how many tracks around here that people actually get to that can afford such a car. Sti forever bitches.

and at the end of the day, u r driving a wrx with a big wing...and the other guy is driving an EVO bitch!!! 😄

i actually voted sti even though im madly in love with evos. i watched top gear test the mr and they picked the sti as well because the mr's turbo is too big for the motor to start to spool until like 4k rpms. they had a roll race against some pos underpowered family sedan and it actually beat the mr because it just couldnt hit boost quick enough.

its pretty much a landslide in desicision fo the Evo
well the sti might of done better if it was in 2f2f instead of the evo for the votes wear people don't judge the pros and cons of each car

I actually voted for the EVO from a pure performance aspect of it over a broad range of scenarios. I'd probably buy an STi out of loyalty to Subaru however and since there are just marginal differences between the two its really too close to call, I'd be willing to bet that most of us in here would have a hard time putting up a consistently better time in either of them.

That being said, what you should have asked is which is better, EVO MR or STi Spec C. In which case the Spec C would be the hands down winner. I was watching a clip the other day where some supercar engineers were driving a Spec C on a track and were basically outraged at the handling and drivability of the Spec C for the cost. Somewhere in there they said that the Spec C is hands down the best car dollar for dollar of any car on the planet...there were no compromises.

Kirk would have to agree with me that they are both pretty much the same car between the EVO and the STi.... i've driven his and he's driven mine... i just prefer mine cause i've driven it more... and i'm sure he prefers his cause he's driven his more...
