I dont mind. IMO opinion criticism is a good thing. I'd rather hear about a problem then have everyone complain about it and not say anything about it. Lets people know what needs to be improved.
I think i know which car you are talking about and on that vehicle it came in blown up and half torn apart. It had the heads of the valve broken off and beating around in the cylinder. If its the same car i believe its coming in next week for us to assemble the motor and put it all back together. I know Bergs did the motor and bored the clearnace small and it was having problem w/ piston to wall clearance so they are redoing it for him as we speak.

I do not have a problem with critisim either it just bothered me a little bit because everybody KEPT on talking about the flaws in his car, and yeah there are a couple witch is why his car is at the shop still, i didnt mean to whore up the thread but i felt that everyone was attacking mark and oddens and i didnt feel that that was right.

I too am done with this subject. I hope that there are no hard feelings between Mark and his car club (Ground Assault) and myself and my car club (Veritas Racing). It was never intended to be personal and I've discussed my thoughts already on this thread.

I'm not planning on the turbo for awhile, I'm doing other things first, then engine. it's a long process... and if you want to know, his name is Bobby, and I believe he has a 91? Talon, my boyfriend, Bobby, and our friend were taking apart his engine and 2 of his pistons were messed up, so he had to get new ones. the bolts being stripped, might not be SLS's fault, I'm not going to blame them, but my friend who doesn't know them can go ahead and do it, thats her fricken choice, she don't know a damn thing about cars.Pistons Messed up was our fualt? I think Not!!! We put in a used engine, Maybe he shouldnt have ran so much boost... Or Read a book on how to treat your DSM!Sti Shucky says DO NOT STREET RACE, EVERYTHING IN SIGHT!

ok, nowhere did I say that it was your guy's fault, I just stated that when he took apart his engine, that his 2 pistons were messed up, never said it was your guy's fault. I'm not trying to be a bitch, but maybe read carefully what I said... thanks! -

I agree with you, they can make that car look perfect, it is possible. I don't see how it's not. there's alot of cars that can be perfect, BUT, there will always be someone who doesn't think it is... and thats their problem then I guess.... and, about the car shops, I know I have herd bad things about SLS, but oh well. there's gonna be I'm not gonna say though that they're a bad company, cause I don't know. but ya know, just don't totally put down a company just cause they were rushed...
Youre admitting there that it was probably their problem.SLS>Cavalier babe

Lets people know what needs to be improved.I agree with this post, criticism helps build a stronger car, sometimes when I am working on my car... I don't see things that others see probobly becasue it is my car and I look at it so much. I am very harsh when it comes to cars... I just don't talk about it much because most people can not handdle it. I am the hardest compared to anyone on my car, but there is still things I miss. That is why when you go to big time shows there is more than one judge, because many things are missed. I have been building my car for 3-4 years now and I still feel I am 2 years or more away from finishing it. And even when I do finish it im not sure I will have just a killer car, one of my biggest problems to get over is; no matter how much I do to it the starting car is still a paseo.... that is a hard one to beat... there is just no respect for those cars at all. But one thing I do know about is paint and body work should be done at the very end. And I am talking the very end.... when everything else is completly done. And paint is also a very touchy topic.... cuz there is a huge difference on opinions between people that know things about paint and body work and people who don't know as much about it. My uncle Dave Engelhart worked for Rydel as the body manager for over 14 years until he passed away and had worked on many of Rydel's best hot rods. He tought me tons on paint and body work. Out of all the cars at toppers this year, I only liked about 10-20 cars body work/paint jobs, most of the other just had to many flaws. I feel bad for the shop that has to paint my car, cuz I get crabby about some of the smallest things... but if i am paying 8-14 grand for paint and body work it better line up and it better be smooth. I can't even figure out what type of car I have... not really a show car... not a race car.... not a stereo car.... not even a driven car..... I am just stuck in the f-in middle. I know what it takes to have a national show car... and I don't have it... and I don't think I will ever have it.. I like to drive my car way too much to be a show car... It will never be a show car. Most of the real show cars are never really drivin. Jesus this got long.... sorry, lol.

very good write up Taylor.

I'm going to feel the same way soon when i start working on a Beretta. there is like no respect for these cars. everyone says they are junk cause mine has the quad4. but i still love the POS even tho it costs more money than anything else i've ever had.
