Well, gas is kicking my ass, and I don't need such a large car, so I am selling it and getting a civic. I want to get a ~1990 civic hatch, but I don't know ANYTHING about hondas or civics. right now I just want it to run and get good gas mileage, but eventually, I might mod it. What should I stay away from? Does it matter what model I should get? What should I look for when buying one. I found a 1990 civic Dx, 1.5L FI manual, 141K miles, decent shape, for $1995...is that any good, or is that too high of a price? Thank you.

EDIT: selling my winter beater, not my Trans Am.

No, the TA is staying put. Does the engine in that car have potential at all? If not, could I swap in an engine that does?

Seems a little high for a 1990. I don't think that engine has a whole lot of potential, but I could be wrong.

if your gonna get a 1988-1991 civic the only one that really has potential is the SI if your keeping the stock motor. for a DX that price is kinda high

😞 I'll keep looking. How much would an 88-91 SI cost, stock...on average.

I would not pay more then $1000 ever even for a 3g Civic, even if it was a Si. (Stock of course)

That's a rip, talk him down alot!

The value of a 1988-1991 civic/crx if directly proportional to the amount of rust on the car. If there is no rust, clean title, and atleast a 'relatively' clean car I would pay up to the 2k asking price.

                      JUST STAY AWAY FROM RUST!

its hard to find a older civic where the rear 1/4s arent rusted.
