Cops suck

I'm usually out there with them, and I don't think I qualify as a "punk kid", neither does Weshole, Stephen Bradley, RE-Enema, etc...... So the problem must be that we don't park all nice and organized w/ 3.38' of space between each car and our front bumpers all lined up w/ the front of the yellow lines...that pisses me off too... Seriously, if you came over and talked to us you'd probably realize that (most) of us respect the roots of motorsports, which is arguably musclecars. It seems that some people get so stuck on the past that they can't embrace the technology of the present. That's where the problems arise. IMHO if we got the same respect for our cars as we give for classic muscle there would be no problem. However, I will be the first to stand in line and DEFEND my car of choice...also, I'm usually the guy that makes wise-ass comments like "my car makes more torque than your truck" when the guys in the Chevy Silverados and Ford F150's feel they must rev/burnout when they go by us....I'm kind of an ass that way.

I said look more organized so the PUBLIC doesn't think your a bunch of jackasses. Which that did come off as. Pretty parking is not a requirement. Not asking to change at all, making a suggestion. Who wants to roll up on a bunch of punks? No one, that's what I said the group looks like when you park that way. Specifying that's what it looks like, not what you are. Not picking a fight here. Seeing how well you take to suggestions. Testing the waters, know what I mean? The car hobby already has a bad name, We should all try to improve it.even if we did some of the stuff you said, most of us are young kids and people will still think we are "punks" and do some profiling. no matter what we would do people would still think we are up to no good. Chuck is right, you would be surprised if you were to stop and talk to us.

I didn't mean to turn this thing completely around, and I don't want you to make us out as being completely defensive, or whatever.... but honestly, just swing in and talk next time you see a group. You'd realize we're a nice laid back, appreciative croud. Maybe a different age group, but we all have the same love for cars.

Maybe a different age group, but we all have the same love for cars.I met "Bluejays" last weekend when I was out and about in town Saturday night. I think he was the only person from this forum not to goto Grand Forks cruisin... and anyways I ended up following him over to the K-Mart lot and hanging out for a couple minutes. If he is a typical representative for the group, then I would say you have a nice group of car people.
I have car buddies anywhere from about 16 - 50+ years of age... I don't think age has much to do with anything. I know some 40 year olds that are a lot more cocky then some 16 and 17 year olds.
I don't even see the whole import vs muscle car thing anymore... spending 5+ years racing the brackets at BIR kind of changes your view on that. The "import" crowd is just as cool to chat with as the "muscle car" crowd. -
Thanx BT, I just had my 24th B-Day and feel old enough, Now I feel like the 70 year old with a classic hiding somewhere. Just be careful, I had a knife pulled on me in the K-mart lot for sitting the same way a few years back, no shit, Just for sitting there. If the organizers do not want to take the suggestion, then don't. Your call. I don't want to be sassed about it, I'm testing the waters to see if you all have good attitudes, most of you seemingly do. Ford versus Chevy is Dead, We need to work on the new stigma's and kill them too.

I agree, just stop and talk to us, we aren't bad people, if others want to think we are a bunch of "punk" oh well, I guess thats their opinion. All we do is just hang out and talk, and fuck around. I like Classic cars, and Domestics and Imports, I own a domestic. Cops just don't want us to park too close to open businesses, cause we might "scare away" some customers. all we want to do is get together and hang out. there's nothing wrong with that. I think, cops just like to hate on us.
-
Truth of the matter is, its not our property to hang out on. If the owners don't want you there, then they by all means have the right to kick you guys out.
HONESTLY how many times have you gotten together a bunch of cars, and not had something illegal happen. People drive like idiots when they get in to a group, I admit I drive way differently then when I'm just by myself.
Just look at the bigger picture (brian haha), and see that perhaps they arent just trying to be dicks, but prevent somebody from getting hurt or something.
Or they could just be dicks

When people do rolling burnouts at 40mph out of a walmart parking lot, I think it is safe to say you have worn out your welcome.
...when police have to chase you all out on a nightly basis it is no wonder they start to recognize and profile your cars.

Ding, ding, ding,
......we have a winner.
It's just unfortunate that a couple immature, irresponsible "punks" tend to ruin things like this for everyone else. -
thats true though, a friend of mine, got after the people who do that shit, and some of the people that do that, aren't even with us. they just park by us. the yellow bmw has done it quite a bit, but my friend got after the people who know him and told them they can't be doin that stuff, cause thats what gets us kicked out.. we're fine at Walmart, cause if cops have a problem, I know the district manager, I'm sure he can have a say in us hangin out there.
-
I doubt the local police will do anything make walmart mad....walmart owns like 84% of the United States of America, all the while rolling back prices daily I might add.
-
plus, like 2 weeks ago that one lady cop that showed up when we were at sams/walmart was pretty cool about the whole thing, she was nice compared to most of them because we were actually curtious to her. The only thing i hate is that gay ass 50ish year old cop in moorhead who pulled me over for doing 32/42 in 30/40's....faggot.

not too many people like the beamer guy, I saw that car a few years back with a brick in the window, if it's the same foreigner I see driving around town
