Eclipse or Alpine?

btw, if you JUST bought the Eclipse and its not working right, take it back to SoS. Thats what warranties are for.

Or, for an even better answer: Whichever sound best to you. Honestly that is all that matters.

neither, both are crap (IMO). I'm running audiobahn subs with diamond audio (1200.1) amps.
this isn't a dick-measuring contest. He asked which sounded better. good for you if you can afford that. I'm pretty sure that audiobahn subs aren't TOP of the line either. and I think there are a couple of guys who know a little more about mobile audio systems than you. KNOW YOUR ROLE! -
Like Fitzy said (and I said earlier) buy the speaker that sounds best to YOU. Both are good, I prefer Eclipse (out of the two) but if I had to pick a set of speakers I like best (overall) it would be the B&W setup that Earl Zausmer had in his car a few years back....never mind that the midbasses in kick panels cost ~$11k a piece...not including installation. There's nothing wrong w/ Audiobahn, Eclipse, Alpine, MB Quart, Polk, JL Audio, Boston Acoustics, Image Dynamics, USD, Clarion, Memphis, Phoenix Gold, Veritas (the speaker manufacturer, not the car club), Kicker, Diamond, Crystal, etc, etc, etc..... Theres at least 50 good brands out there and all have had huge success in the competition scene. It really comes down to the installation, wiring, and speaker location most times.

I threw out some imput on here last night and tonight I see there are some good points made. When I first posted here I was under the impression it was speakers, but as others said it's preference they all excel in different area's. personally I think that when you go high end they are all close and it is really what type/size of speaker will work better in your car.

kewl. thanks for the responses! i had eclipse speakers in my last car, and i liked how they sounded, and the popular optinion is eclipse, so i will prolly go with them again

Eclipse makes damn good subwoofers. So does Audiobahn. Both have their strengths and weaknesses. 99% of how a sub sounds (sonically) is determined by sub enclosure and properly tuning said enclosure to your vehicle. Just so you don't think I'm picking on you here, I sell Audiobahn but I'm man enough to admit that there are LOTS of good subs out there so I'm not going to jump on this and say something like "Yeah man, thats what I've been telling people all along, you guys should listen to this guy....." cuz Eclipse is NOT crap, Alpine is NOT crap (I'm not a big fan of their subs, but they still aren't crap).

which cheek? you really need to relax man. i didnt say you didn't know anything. I made no personal attack at your knowledge in any shape or form. I simply said that there are more than liekly a few people on this board that know a little more about car audiob than you... People who have owned shops for 10 years, people who do custom CF work better than any ive ever seen, people who have the fastest leased cars in the world...etc...I'm not sticking my foot in my mouth, im just trying to help you pull the sand out of your ass and get that nose angled down a little bit more, because you are not the almighty god of car stereos. -
