Drifters?

i've got rwd import but with current motor condition driften isnt quite easy, not even enough power to powerbreak w/out water

It's possable to drift with any amount of horse power, its just harder to brake traction. My buddy drifts pretty well with his 145 hp Rx-7.

cmon you dont even need rear drive, i mean i drift all the time in my corisca, specially when im cruisin at night in the summer. cops dont care they were just laughing and cheering me on. the whole drifting thing has gone the wrong way with this rear drive business all they need to do is sell their hopped up 240s and what not and buy a corsica. simply said.

that's the biggest load of $hit i've read on this board. i got an exhibition ticket for turning a corner (right) too fast and my rear end sliding out. try telling just about anyone else on this board thia and they will also say that you're full of it

i know what your saying, we go"drifting" all of the time in my friends cavy. you can fun with it in anything. i can get my 240 to do it but not to the point of something that i would think about competing. there would be alot more of it if someplace around here or even down in the city's would start something up like street legal days at interstae

Drifting is just the gay ricer ripoff of a part of rally racing. It is only cool for a while, but pretty soon it just gets retarded.

:sigh: depending on the car, track, conditions, etc drifting IS the best way around some corners. maintaining inertia around a corner and transferring the energy from sliding directly into going forward takes talent

Sorry to tell you, but rally racing is MUCH MUCH MUCH older than drifting. I admit when I first saw it i thought it was kinda cool, but after a while it just dawned on me that the only reason I thought it was cool was because it was a rip off of rally races, then it just got old and annoying.

I really don't see how the two are related really? Rally racing involves racing multiple different types of terrain (Tarmac, Snow, Gravel, Ice, Rain, Hills, Ditches(not on purpose of course) etc....) whereas drifting is all about driving skill and car control. Drifting is much less of a race in the traditional sense. You don't have to pass the other guy to win, its much more of an art, like water ballet or synchronized swimming (that sounds really gay doesn't it???).

i don't know that i would say drifting is an art.... but something more like construction or programming. it's difficult, but any idiot can learn with the proper direction

Not any idiot can learn how to drift WELL. Sliding around one corner isn't considered drifting. That's just a powerslide which any idiot can do. And some people just suck at driving anyway. Tjamz knows what drifting is all about from what he said in one of his last posts. I wish I could drift well and would like to get into it but I like not crashing my car and not having to spend alot of money on tires. And has anyone really ever looked for a good spot to practice? I havn't. But I just ordered a set of adjustable rear upper arms for my 240 and coilovers are next, so that's the beginning of my suspension build up. So maybe I'll give it a shot when I have some better equipment to work with.

i Drift even if i don't try some time the 2 is so tail heavy that i can break it loose any time the control is the problem
