spoiled rich kids
-
So what if their parents are well enough off to buy them a car? I wish mine would/could have been able to, but realistically I make way more than both my parents combined right now so them buying me a car would have been out of the question (granted it's been 12 years since I graduated, but you know what I'm saying). Maybe their parents want the best for them, don't want them to go out and buy a POS car and end up in debt for several years while trying to pay their way through college at the same time. Maybe it's just that they want to relive their youth through their kids so they buy them modern day hot-rods. Maybe it is just that they were looking for a gift for their graduating sons/daughters? Who cares!?!?!? It's not your money their are spending, it's not my money, it's THEIR MONEY. The money they worked hard for so that their kids can have the cars that they want. Maybe the kids even have to pay them back once they are done w/ college, I don't know and I'm sure you can't speak for all of them either.
Its funny you mention kids running around like their ballers, I see that a lot more out of the kids w/ POS cars that think their cars are pimp because they have underbody kits and spinner hubcaps than the kids w/ nice cars. Sure, some of them are a little cocky, but so was I at that age (admittedly I was worse). And I don't think I've ever heard any of them say "I'm the shit cuz of my car", at least not in a serious tone.
BTW, who totaled their car only to go to the lot and pick out another one? And besides, even if they did total it, it's not like they aren't insured so their not coming up with the $$$$$ for a whole new car.
You make too many assumptions, and like the old saying goes, when you assume you make an ASS out of U and ME

well speaking of assuming...
Reread my title, I know the difference between spoiled and blessed hope you do too.
When a kid wrecks a car and the parents are already paying the ins. guess what happens?
When was the last time you saw a rich kid say he was thankful for having more than his peers? Guess that settles that huh?
Anyways I said it was just my opinion, I rarely say anything if some kid is spoiled. Infact I didn't last night.
Btw, saw your car at walmart last night and it's pretty clean. Like the wingless look.

Yes, I know the difference.

The insurance company pays for the car and insurance prices go up.

I can think of 3 off the top of my head. Joe, Kirk, Scherling (and from what I can tell Scherling is making payments on his car to his dad. No doubt his father helped him get into the RX7, and helps him along w/ his progression, but I know for a fact that he is repaying him for every mod he helps with)

And you said you thought it would get some opinions, those were mine

Thank you.

so what if parents buy their son/daughter a car.. my parents bought mine and i dont go around a flaunt that they did cause it's stupid when they think they are better than everyone else just cause their car is worth more or anything like that. my cousin who has the STi(kirk or rx8ownage) is the same way he doesn't sit and badmouth everyone else or think he's stuck up in anyway cause we aren't. we are just like every other kid that has a car. i've had my share of cars and yes they were all paid for by my daddy. a 1997 grand prix gtp, 2002 f150, 1992 dodge stealth and now my evo. and never once have i flaunted it or anything i will sit and talk with anyone i may not talk alot cause i'm shy around people i dont know very well but i'll sit and answer questions about anything granted i know the answer.

I'm just stating my opinion, not trying to offend anybody.

You are very well entitled to your opinion, but it seemed that the cars you were naming were his, kirks and Scherlings. I gave my opinion on how I see their situations, I wasn't trying to start shit w/ anyone either, but I'm not one to keep my mouth shut when I see what appeared to be a comment about one (or more) of my friends.
Heh..seeing as how I am the 6th most active poster on this board, I apparently have a hard time keeping my mouth shut about anything...LOL

im 3rd. bow.

Nobody really gives a fuck if thier parents bought them thier cars. I worked for all of mine, lots of people work for all of thiers. Personally, I know that Joe and Kirk are very appreciative of thier parents helping them out with thier cars, and all of us should be so lucky as to have parents who can drop and buy super nice cars. Till then, people will continue to buy budget cars that go fast (if your not a ricer)...
All I can say, is that you shouldn't be bitching about who bought what, you should be bitching about the overall attitude of some of the fucks that drive like dumbasses. People that are like yup, i'm the shit becuase I bought my own car; again nobody cares, super for you.
Ok enough shit starting for me in a day

Actually I don't have anything against anybody driving a wrx, it was just an example. There's like 100 wrxs in this town so don't know where ya got that one. And when did I refer to an evo??????????????? But the kid with the rx-7 is an idiot. He told me he paid for it himself. I also remember him bragging his car up at taco bell one night. Even his friends said he was spoiled. And I know I'm not the only person on here who doesn't like him.

I'm 7th btw

i'm the 1st active posta mothafukkazPlenty of people care. If you work for something yourself or have to wait years to get it you treat it defferently and it means alot more to you.
Not bitching bout nothin just wondering if anybody else feels the same way or even has the balls to admit it. Apparently not.
I guess when some parent buys their kid a new vette cause he graduated high school and he goes out and street races killing a couple of innocent children it's ok. Guess the parent wasn't responsible. It's not like buying your kid a loaded handgun or anything. If you buy your kid a fast car instead of a taurus what are they going to do with it???

Haha, my dad's disabled I don't think he can afford to buy me anything... I don't want anything from him anyway... I'm extremely thankful for my intellect, health and not many people can say that at my age... I think the "all hondas are slow" thread is more stupid... This is the "run your mouth" section isn't it?
-
LOL its not that we don't have balls to admit it, its that we don't feel that way. Common man, I just said I worked for my car for two years, often till 3am, working at quite possibley the shittest job out there. I know what it is to appreciate things you've worked for; but its not to say the people who get their parents to buy them cars don't take care / appreciate them just as much. True, some may not, but you cant group everybody together.
-
I appologize if I offended anybody, it wasn't my intention. I'm glad they're are people that have nice cars and aren't dicks. As for the people that I was orginally referring too... Well it's nice they can brag about their parents car...

sorry to hear about your dad..there is a lot of stupid threads on here..does your brother have a white prelude that tries to race everyone he pulls up to?haha, probibly him. Didn't tell you but he can't shift, he misses gears all the time. Most of the time he simply loses because he misses 2nd gear. Hopefully by next summer it'll have rims, system, and a bunch of mods.
btw, he told me he lost to an accord v6
