Why doesn't anybody race?

Funny how you mention how you assume people dont know what you're talking about... Last time i checked you were the one telling me i didn't know what i was talking about when it came to turbo's, FMIC's, etc.... So i wouldn't go rambling about everyone else...

the whole "why don't people race" was on my mind when i decided not to register my car this summer and just keep it in the garage until next summer (that and i don't want to drop $400+ on new tires).
granted, i haven't been out to sabin, but fri-sun is when i make money, i can't afford to skip those days right now. however, if you come across me on the street and i don't see any cops, that's a different story. the only exceptions are those cars that aren't worth my time, you know what i mean: sohc saturns, most hondas, cavaliers, and trucks, etc. i feel bad when i cross the intersection on a bad launch and make them look like they can't find the gas pedal, or when i drop down a gear and make the other car look like they hit the brakes. it just isn't fun.
the good races i've had are from a roll: jim before the 14b on the interstate, vr6 golf (before pat bought the 1.8t; with gentle, rev-matching shifting), 1.8t golf (from 35+/- only 3rd), 2nd gst (from 35+/- only 3rd), and an 89 probe gt (gentle rev-matching again). it was a great time racing the evo and brian's 2g gsx, i'd like to try the evo again next year with better tires and a real launch.
the cars i want to run against never seem to be out: hondas with more than cat-backs, other dsms, or some muscle cars. i wouldn't care about losing, i just want something that i can use to gauge MY performance by.
ah well... it'll have to wait until next summer now -
So, just to ask.....why did TRE get banned for that last post?

I read an article or two made by professionals and you do the stuff day in and day out, we are proboly both right in some way. I never once said I know this or know that through experience, I was just goin off of what I read. I'm not trying to make enimies on here, I came on here to make friends, and bring people together. Maybe some of my words back there were harsh im not sure I haven't reread them. I am sorry If i affended anyone. I didn't want to attack anybody, but people sure attacked me, and now im so attacked that I am banned? That just doesn't make sence to me.

I wasnt there and probably dont have the whole story but when you start cocking off to an owner of a promet shop in town who also is an administrator on the site you frequent...you should realize that no good could come of it

if you wanna race...why not come out to the Auto Crosses? Its something different than straight line all the time and you always are compared w/ cars that are in the same class as you! You dont need to have many if any mods to have fun and do well...but i think it would spark peoples interest in wanting to go fast!
