Forum article on "cars" sucks balls.

I got a little lead way insight froma source that the street legal drags way before the season started that they were going to happen either way wether or not somebody sponsored them or not.
Anyways, i dont wanna start an argument over it because it'd be stupid, just stating some facts
-
This is funny how one comment can explode like that. I'll start with Jerry and go from there:
Jerry> You may want to get your facts straight before you start talkin shit. Should I have had you build my motor for me? Maybe then the head gasket would leak right away, or fuck it'd probably have 5-6 check engine lights and no vtec, but those are normal right? The swap I finished two weeks ago left without any.
I have no problem with Shane or tintmasters in general, but I have a problem with people such as you who think you know everything yet cannot back up what you say. Those 14s sure are fast aren't they?Ethan> I've never denied Elite worked on my car. Why would I? I don't really care who did it still runs and I've been driving it for 3 fuckin years now without a problem. Big deal. Back when that project started it was out of the ordinary for any Honda to really have that much shit done to it around here. Fuck, we were shooting for a max of 300 whp. The same setup 3 years later did almost 465 at the wheels but that must be lame. If it came down to doing it again, I'll do it myself. It doesn't really concern me. As far as the 11.4 one time goes, it'll happen again and it will be faster. My car doesn't even move right now. It's sitting at the shop awaiting a new clutch as well as a computer.
Roadsounds doesn't sponsor the track because it's the "Tintmasters" nights. It's nobody elses nights, and there is no option to make it anyone elses nights.
Roadsounds is almost single-handedly responsible for the SCCA auto-x that is happening in this state. If it wouldn't have been for us 2 years ago, auto-x would have probably never taken off again. We fronted the cost for the insurance and equipment to make it happen during Motor Magic, and the guy we had help us is now the director of the Bad Lands region SCCA, but what do we do for anyone?
And if either of you would liek to discuss this further go ahead and stop by the store. I'm there from 10 am to 7 pm every day. Jerry you can also stop by and check out O'Gormans car. It runs, has vtec, everything.
Also does anyone have some cheesypoofs?

Nah you see I work at roadsounds. 10-7 everyday. Remote starters, etc that sort of thing. If you'd like to come by you can. You want to start shit that's fine by me, just calling you out on some shit that needed to be said.
Here are some links to some honda-tech articles where you're were wondering about your car burning oil, or how to time your car, etc. But you are ASE certified right and a honda god right?
Heres one where you said you bought your car w/ the swap in it:

Another one where you didn't know what cylinder was #1:

Timing Problems:

I'm not lookin for a fist fight, never have, never will that's not what I do. But if you want to swing I guess you can. If it will make you a bigger man than so be it. Also I hear there is a guy named Corey w/ a CRX waiting to run into you again. He'll be at the track in October from what I hear.
Just a friendly invite to come over and see what we've got goin on and how to wire a swap. I have pictures of that swap from when it came in the door that I've never posted because I felt they didn't need to be posted, but if you'd like I can also post those too. Anyways this is my last post and if you want to bitch about it more you can all you want.

GSR - Well, thank you to Roadsounds for bring auto-x to everywhere BUT Fargo.
Nick - Tintmasters STARTED the street legal nights. Its easy to take someone else's idea and go with it.
Troy - The car shows may not have "show car quality" cars, but, my point is, at least someone is trying to put some on. They are fun, and actually give everyone from every shop a chance to hang out together. Isn't what this is kinda all about? Wouldn't it be cool if everyone could hang out together? The car shows and race nights are about the only times where you will see someone from every shop/club in the same place. They are all there for the same reason. Give me an SLS or AA&E show with a bike class, and I'll enter. No bike class? I'll go and support the show anyways.
As far as attendance being down? I can't make people go to the track. If they don't go cause they don't like tintmasters...their problem, not mine. It's up to every individual to decide whether they are going to support stuff. When, other shops have events, I'll try my hardest to support them.
I'm not hating on shops other than tintmasters. I was defending a quote on how their advertising is "free". As usual, defending one shop turns into a 20 page fight between people who are loyal to other shops.
And, I'm not looking for a response(see internet fight) from this, so Jim, please feel free to lock it if you see fit.

All in all this argument is pretty stupid because everyone is going to defend who they want and its just going to escalate. I really dont give afuck if you guys want to sit here and argue about who does what, who sells what, yada yada, im just gonna sit back, watch and laugh!!!
Each shop has their own specialty and IMO they should just stick to what they know rather than trying to dabble in it all so then we avoid having conflicts like this. I don't tint, i dont install autostarts, nor do i want to. And you dont see me trying it because if that was the case then i'd be right inthe middle of this argument trying to defend myself about something that i fucked up when i could have brought it eslewhere and just had it done right by the people who specialize in that area. I'll elaborate a little more, we've now seen Jerry wire a swap, and we've seen Cartman try weld and fabricate, neither were good. Stick to what you know and avoid the headaches please!!!
You guys can sit and argue w/ each other, trash talk each other and run yourselves out of business and i'll just keep to myself and continue on my daily routine. You guys depend on Fargo for work so i wouldn't go and fuck up the industry...

Wow.. Smartest, most mature thing I've ever heard you say there dude...
Nice work..
This thread is weak, cut the soap opera fellas..

I'd have to agree with Jeff on the smartest, most mature thing I have heard from Nick... Not a bash at all, just looks like some people grow up, and then again others choose not too. I don't like getting into the middle of the he said, she said garbage, because I have way better things to do with my time... But I felt like wasting 10 minutes of my life so I read this thread.... Back to the point, I will agree that tintmasters got a lot of coverage, and I also agree that the forum really should have looked further into the sport of 'tuning' a car. They got a lot of the lights, and wheels, and other add on accessory parts down pretty good, but yes the verbage of a lot of the performance stuff was poor. And had they visited a shop who's main focus is performance, it would have sounded a lot more professional and informative. But I guess one thing for everyone to look up at, is the fact that at least the community and sorts are starting to SEE what we are doing and now they understand a little more where their kids come from when they want a 'performance mod' and that their kids aren't just in a 'phase' and it is a healthy hobby. Not a perfect story, we all realize that, but our sport was the MAIN FEATURE to the cover of the paper for 3 days straight. So we have to be thankful for that at least.
In regards to the garbage and usual drama and bs that happens on most forums around here.... I have always said, you choose where you want to go to get your work done. Plain and simple. But when a shop around here makes a mistake, or something doesn't go exactly as planned, everyone is VERY quick to run and tell everyone they can. That is what life is about.... Do a thousand people right, they will tell one person. Do one person WRONG and they will tell a thousand people. A little insight into the O'gorman project so we can get it on the table and I can be the first to say that one of the employees HERE at TINTMASTERS didn't finish a job they were paid to do. The swap was in a HX civic hatch, which is quiet a little bit more 'involved' if you will than say into a CX. It takes a lot of knowledge and a lot of trial and error to get it all right. We were asked to do it, without ever putting a swap into a HX civic and figured we had enough resources to make it done right. After a lot of work from EVERYONE at the shop, we found ourselves looking to other people for help (Omar in Texas, Ryan in Sioux Falls). We spent many MANY hours looking for the issue. Tested the Vtec solenoid, tested the ecu, tested all we could. This took Shane, Dustin, Jerry, and others a long time. And still we were left with questions. Could it have been wiring? doubtful, but YES... Could have it been from machine work? doubtful, but YES... Could it be with the new cams installed? doubtful, but YES.... We looked into all of this! We even hard wired vtec with a switch and it didn't work!! So it wasn't that we just simply tried to put it in over an afternoon, didn't get vtec working and said "well sorry, but no vtec, and that will be **** amount of dollar please". We spent hours after the working day to try and get it all working, and all of that seems to be left untold through all of this. When we would try and get the car here to have us keep looking, the customer was very hard to work with and unwilling to leave the vehicle for us to look into it, when time permitted. Not his fault, it is ours, but makes it harder for us to fix the issue. I am sick of the bs from everyone about how we screwed it up and this and that. YES WE WERE UNABLE TO GET THE VTEC WORKING IN A TIMELY FASHION, BUT WERE WILLING TO DO WHATEVER IT TOOK TO GET IT WORKING. The customer decided to take it to another shop to have it looked into, and I guess as the story is told, was able to make it work. Makes us look bad, but at the same time, we are not idiots, or morons, or unable to do swaps or whatever some people on here are trying to prove. You have heard the truth up front from the manager of tintmasters, and now that all pride and ego's are put aside, I hope we can let it go and get back to the people of the scene. Choose where you want to go to get your work done. I am confident that any place in town is able to do quality work on most vehicles.... But lets not forget that problems arise in ALL types of business and when they do it is how the company handles the issues and problems that makes or breaks their business. As always we will stand behind our work.... good or bad..... whenever the bad may have to strike.Jason Christopherson

(701)239-8468I just wasted 3 minutes of my life on that one Chach. Whoever does the most work, makes the most money and has the biggest rep will always get the spotlight for the good (nespaper) and for the bad (no vtec in swap). Tintmasters has been doing this for years and Shane has always done great with the "I dont give a fuck attitude"... Keep it that way..
Leave the drama for the animals and do what you do.
