It's over and done with. Sorry I didn't read it as a joke. Your welcome anyways. -
LOL to the above post, i agree that a best of show car should not have any corners cut, but he does have a lot of money into the car and it does have a big wow factor. i agree with chuck he did what he needed to do to get the attention, and i believe you were hard on your car chuck because if you weren't you wouldn't think it needs work and after talking to you and knowing you for a little bit now, i know you don't think your car is perfect, but i know you will work hard on it and improve it to make it better. I am probably sounding stupid but thats ok i am. I was just wondering if you actually had to judge your own car and how the whole judging thing worked. So you can all disreguard what i brought up i was just being dumb. I mean chuck look at my car LOL that is all i have to say about it.

As for those ripping on the Escort... Dee that owns it is probably the nicest guy anybody could ever meet. He's spent a lot of time and put a lot of hard work into that car. It has many performance mods, including an Esslinger head, and probably one of the most in depth displays anybody could ever see.I would say he was a great pick for best Domestic SC.
he had not been there long and was still busy as heck cleaning his ride when i went over to see what was going on. i took alot of time looking the car over and then started thumbing through his book (now how many had a book), but anyways he was walking around me to get to the other side and i just started asking him questions and he stopped his cleaning to answer them and did so without a bit of disgust in his voice.
definitely a nice display and i love to see motor work done to anything that can have it done to it.
was great to have him stop and talk to me rather than brush me off to clean his car for judging. verry good impression.Monty

For a first time show it went very well with minimal to no snags at all. What alot of people don't understand is there is alot of pressure that goes on behind the scenes (weather it be on stage, floor, judging, venders...etc) Whatever the outcome, people are never going to be happy. The best thing to do is to brush the dirt off the shoulders and figure out a way to become better for next year.
The only rant I have was the crushed bottle of O.J behind the stage..stunk like old wood and orange juice for a good portion of the night haha (the story behind it was quite hilarious).

You have no idea how hard it is to judge cars, do the security, clean your own car and run the PS2 booth. Sounds easy enough, but its really rather a pain. But I'd do it all again if asked.

Thank you once again to tintmasters, models, and crew for their hard work, the entrants for showing and the spectators for coming! All are needed to make a successful show, and to me the show looked pretty successful.
My favorite part was getting to drive afterwards, but its been awhile since I have been able to cruise.
As far as judging goes, that is not one job I would like to have. It is a difficult job, one that always recieves harsh crticism.
And I agree with tufte, if you do not like it, try to change it for the next show. So far this year I have tried to do at least one thing diffrent to my car before each show that I have entered. (this time a carbon fiber spark plug cover WOOO HOOO!)
also to answer tufte's question I did get some things done to the interior right before Autovations. The pics are on the cardomain, nothing much but I think it looks clean!
thanks again everyone for a great time

Advice to anyone who is going to have their car judged by me: I check 2 wheel wells and under the sideskirts for dirt. If I find dirt in any of those areas I deduct points from the cleanliness section. Seriously, 95% of the cars had CHUNKS of dirt up in their wheel wells.I hope I got bonus points for the chunks of rubber I left "intentionally" in my wheel wells.

They didn't rub off, so you didn't get docked....actually very few people in the Ground Assault/Veritas/Combat Zone section had any dirt in their wheel wells.... perhaps it was because they have all been judged this way before.

4.white on white STiThanks, but mine isn't an STi. The white STi had Bronze wheels, the White WRX wagon had green wheels. The other WRX wasn't white so I assume you meant me. Thanks though!

Overall I thought the show went very well. I'd bet that if anyone attending didn't know it was the first year of this, that they wouldn't know any better. Everything was well organized, the cars came in and out well, the ticket booth and door monitors worked well, the lighting, car layout, etc was very good. I would rate the show as a 9 out of 10, which is very impressive since it was a first. My only dislikes were the music was a little too loud (I like to be able to carry on a conversation easier, and yes I'm old LOL) and I ended up being parked in front of the fog machine which covered my car in goo by the end of the nite.

Oh, and anyone complaining about the models is gay.
