so How much in mods is that? Less than 25K? If not a 03-04 cobra is then less expensive with more horsepower. And the mustangs have always had great aftermarket support, and have always been cheap to modify. I think the above mentioned sentence is biased based on current car preference, as is Tjamz. But there was already a thread on this stuff. And chuck voted Mustang in it.

BTW Domestics will get fucked with... at least little ricer domestics like mine. Only thing is ill laugh at the cop when he throws me a ticket and I prove its a stock car. I cant wait for the little piggies to pull me over for "loud exhaust."

Not that there's anything wrong with them, I just don't like them. but where are you getting your figures for MSRP when the Cobra was new in 2004. According to this http://www.car-prices-costs.com/2004-Ford-Mustang.html the MSRP was $34,575. Granted they may have depreciated $10,000 in one year, I'm not saying they wouldn't. But new vs. new the imports have the market on cheap HP/Handling/Etc... right out of the box. In fact, in 2003 Hot Rod magazine (I think it was hot rod anyways) ran a bone stock wrx vs a cobra and the wrx beat it in almost every category....but the magazine said overall they liked the advanced RWD of the mustang or some lame shit. Anyways, you can't really compare used to used due to depreciation.

Dont wanna get busted under the latest gestapo crap being pulled by the Fargo PD? simple. dont run a fart can. its unnecessary, it sounds like crap, and they just suck.
Ive got an I-6, 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust and I run an 18 inch glasspack with a magnaflow flow thru 2.4" muffler. sounds fine, Ive got no complaints or tickets. Of course, I drive a "classic" muscle car. and its not festooned with wings, bad bodykits, decals or any other typical ricer crap.
that being said, I think the over huge red-neck mobiles with confederate flags and straight pipes are a far bigger problem in fargo than the fart can factor. Also, harleys REALLY annoy me. I mean, when they go by, it almost hurts my ears, seriously.
If you could get it in writing that the FPD is SPECIFICALLY targeting imports and not just loud exhaust, Im sure you could take them to court or something over it.
in summation, yes it sucks that they are pulling this shit, but what do you expect from the police department that brought you the "Party Patrol"? That whole waste of taxpayer money is no more, and this new "law" too shall come to pass.

I was thinking about what they want us who race regularly to do. They said it has no purpose on the street, but do they want us to bassically have 2 different motor setups or what, cause the more upgraded the motor, the more it needs to breathe. If you put a stock system on a highly modified motor you can fry it cause there wouldnt be enought flow. I guess im just thinkin out loud so i dont know if this really makes sense.

Loud does not equal more flow. You can still run a muffler that makes it quiet, and still get good performance.

Anyways, as long as they come up with some sort of db limit on the noise I'll be happy. You can't just have an officer going around and randomly saying "this vehicle is too loud" though. I hope they target every vehicle as well with their db limit. There are more trucks on the road with annoying exhaust then cars.
