Just sayin hi.

i don't know what else to do with the tails. I don't want to tint them so dark they look like tail-light covers. I don't want to look like i'm driving an eighties camaro. i want a little bit of tint just to make them a little different from stock. i don't know, maybe not

coming from the guy with chrome rims, you should be the last one to say whats cool or whats not cool.

Leave the taillights stock, thats my advice.

Welcome to Fargostreet

Welcome, I like chrome on some cars, but not many.....as for the tails dont tint them, if you want some cool tail lights do a conversion, put the tail lights of one of your other fav cars on your Passat, just my idea
-
Welcome dude. by the way, is the passat a diesel?
-
the passat is a 1.8 turbo gasoline, 170 horse, 7.5 to 60, not breathtaking but not as slow as my old 1993 accord.
-
welcome to the site

This car is my inspiration, except the body kit. I'm just gonna paint the lower plastic.

-
that kit is hott but i'm on a budget, it'd look good with quad exhaust
-
just another picture of a passat with only the bottom plastic painted, no body-kit

Sounds like a fun platform!
As far as the taillights go, sounds like you're wanting to do a lot of black accents on the car, which sounds awesome. I see no problem in darkening up the taillights. Just be sure you do a good job.
And Tony, unless the rims are balls heavy, I say stick with 'em, they add a lot of character, b/c you know that EVERYONE is in the 'OMG must have bronze rims' mentality, which is why I'm kinda glad I have silver rims, instead of gold spoke/silver lip like I planned.
See, hawtness:

i think the taillights look good darkened up a little bit. i'm gonna have tintmasters do it. i was maybe even thinking about getting a red tint over just the red areas of the light just to make it more cherry red instead of all bright red. i don't know, whatever i do i'm gonna make sure it's reversible

here's what i was talking about with my tails. I think it's subtle but noticeably different
