8k for an ej20 is RETARDED. You can get a shortblock ej257 from subaru for about $1600. figure $500 for heads (stock wrx heads from a salvage yard...www.car-part.com)), $1500 will get you into stand alone engine management. VF34 turbo and STi pink injectors are about $850 shipped. Fuel rails can be had for under $400. Not sure what a wiring harness will cost, but I suspect it will be less than $1500 (no clue...just throwing out a high number here). TMIC can be bought from me as can stock headers/uppipe/downpipe...as far as that goes, I have a turbo TD04E for sale as well. This is all ballpark off the top of my head so don't blame me if I guessed a bit high/low on somethings.

Hey thanks! Yea I was lookin at the first Impreza. But I don't have money or space right now. Yea I was think 8Gs was way too much for an engine, thank you for proving it to me. How hard is it to get like junkyard body parts for em? Some damage might not be bad if I can find the parts

I have no idea why everyone goes for the EJ257 instead of and EJ22T. The EJ22T was found in 90-94 turbo legacies and is by far the most solid motor that Subaru has ever released to the united states....closed deck, can handle huge boost and are capable of upwards of 750+ WHP (aftermarket internals of course.) EJ257 is a semi-closed deck design that requires a fair amount of modification to make it handle what the EJ22T is capable of stock. For one, you need to dowel the block to keep it from twisting. There are numerous other advantages of the 2.2 liter (turbo) block.

i'd say forget the EJ257, The Impreza WRX was meant to have a 2.0. The JDM EJ20's are better than our EJ257 and EJ20s here...8grand for an EJ20 is alot but if it was a front clip from a JDM car thats about right...early STi's in Japan, Version 1-3 had fully closed blocks and after that they are semi closed but still very potent motors

How bad would it be to get a damaged rex? I've seen a few and they are very much in my price range, I'm just wondering how hard it is to find body pieces and how much? Would it be any better or easier to just go after a body kit?

if it needs hood or front bumper, I can supply you with those...front bumper cut to fit FMIC from APS. body parts aren't that expensive since you can use regular impreza body parts. Suspension shouldn't be too bad either (decent aftermarket support)

Is there anyway to repair the radiator mount or could I just easily enought find on in a JY?

Edit: On the headlights I like the eyelids like your, but also like the projector style ones. Whats your opinion? Its probably the eyelids but I would be doing almost the whole front end.
