My car is overheating and i have no idea on what to do. I took it to 13th ave auto repair and they looked at it for about 1/2hour and all they could tell me is that its not a head gasket and theres a small chance of a coolant leak. < which makes no sense because i filled it 2 days ago and its still full. The motor is a 2.5L V6 24v DOHC. If anyone could give me some input on what they think may be the problem that would be great.

Thermostat perhaps? If its stuck closed coolant is not being cycled through the radiator and therefore overheating the engine.

So, if the thermostat is stuck would the fan come on still? Because my fan hasnt been working lately either.

that might be why its overheating as well...check your fuses for the fan and/or replace your electric fan(s). That's my first suggestion.

The thermostat is a mechanical device that regulates water flow through the block to keep a consistent temperature, it would have no affect that I can think of on your fans engaging.
