-
you got it wrong, since the revolutionary war
-
this defense is so bad.
Russell drops a picnic basket INT, Philly will make this fg, 3 possession.
Family guy starts at 8 packer and viking fans

-
vikqueens beating the eagles was just plain never gonna happen in the first place....but hey gotta give em props for trying lol

-
who cares. AFC will win in the NFC. just bein realistic here.
-
my god, Kirk and I agree on something related to football.
My picks now for superbowl:
Atlanta & Indy, I'm going to assume Indy will win that game barring no injuries leading up to the game.
-
ok so the vikings got lucky in the playoffs but failed to beat us twice earlier. Vikings are a decent team but against philly they had no chance...but like i said they at least tried :D. And just because i'm a packer fan ya have to bring up the past...come on now lol

true vikes did have a better score against the eagles...but thats with out TO...you know as well as i do that the vikes would of lost even worse with him playing. Lets just hope our teams do better next year huh

i think the packers are goin downhill. unless the running game can make up for old man favre. and the vikings need to get rid of tice i think. not cuz of today, people didnt think they would make it this far but hes just not a good head coach. -
I think Tice should stay. He pulled the troops together through a lot of adversity and should be rewarded for it.
Here are the missing ingredients:
Two new linebackers.
A second decent cornerback.
A new kicker.Hopefully the Vikes can work out a trade for a CB or LB. Maybe give up a RB to a team in need for a veteran linebacker to anchor the corps.
Wait until next year.
-
yeah i agree..if the vikings even had an average defense they prolly coulda got 10,11 wins this season. and the kicker is pathetic too. and maybe tice isnt thaaat bad but firing dennis green was still a stupid move. tice makes alot of bad calls though like goin for it on 4th and 2 when no other coach would and shit. but oh well like you said WAIT TIL NEXT YEAR

-
I too, am tired of having these fossils. Nothings worse then having to Pooch kick it cause Gary Anderson and Morten Anderson cant hit anything beyond 30 yards. Being at the 25 and not in FG range is definately old.
Tice is going to have to trade Bennet. Mewelde Moore looks like next year he could be our featured back along with Smith and need to keep Moe for 3rd down and goal line situations.
Im not sure how much the Vikes are under the cap, but they should be a lot since Hovan will not be resigned and he was supposed to be the next big thing till he turned into a flop.
Possibly package Bennet and a mid-late pick to a team with a top 10 pick and get Carlos Rogers outta Auburn and then sign a very good CB.
And then find a replacement for Brian Russel. I've never seen a CB drop so many picnic basket INTs. Even though if it was gonna get called back, he drops so many.

GB does need more talent on its team. There are only a handful of above average players there. I'll also concede this, favre is out of his prime. The only reason he is still the QB is because one game he'll be phenominal, but the next he'll throw it all away. I'd still like to see him w/ a group of really good receivers that he has had a chance to work w/ for 2 seasons w/ no changes, maybe then BOTH the receivers and QB could be on the same page, because right now both are reading each other wrong (Favre may be overrated, but if you look at a lot of his passes, if his receivers would have stayed on route, they would have at least had a shot at catching the ball or breaking up an interception). It is time for GB to start rebuilding their franchise, start bringing in the 2nd string QB for some snaps that matter, fill some spots that are weak. IF Favre cares about this team, the best thing he can do is offer to take less money so they can hire some more talent in several positions.
As for tice, well, I never liked him. I was much more of a Denny Green fan, he may not have ever won the big one, but they were always in the playoffs when he was in charge.
A lot of you are going to hate me for saying this, but i think MN would be better off w/o Moss. Not from the talented player point of view, because he is very talented. More from the negativity he brings. I know you guys all feel he gets picked on by the league but think about this, in school who got sent to the office more, the quiet straight a student that one day decides to smart off a little or the constant trouble maker who does something rather minor? Same principles apply to Moss (or dennis rodman for that matter). The thing that everyone needs to remember is that the NFL is a business and anything that the employees or subcontractors (players in this case) do has an impact on the overall image of the company. I can tell you this, if I "Fake Mooned" my companies competitors and my boss heard about it, I'd be gone. Period. Why should it be any different just because he makes a butt load of money? Because he's one of the best in the game, does that excuse his actions? I realize it buys him some leniency as he is hard to replace, but now I think he's abusing it. He's (or should be) smart enough to know whats gonna get him into trouble and cause distractions, if he chooses to take those actions anyway then he should accept the fact that he is going to be fined. The problem lies w/ him not caring about fines...like he said, what's $10,000 to him? Make it big, say $250,000. Then he might start noticing a little. But make it the same for everyone that does the same as him. This is where I don't agree w/ the league a lot, they give certain people one fine, and others more....I guess it depends on how frequently they fuck up.
