i've decided that i should sell my gaming computer because i don't play nearly as much as i used to. specs as follows:
core 2 duo E6300
--zalman 9500 cpu cooler (all copper)
2gb ddr2-667
gigabyte mb w/gigabit lan
2x250gb hdd (raid0 = very fast)
dvd-rw/ram
x1900xt gpu (beats 2 7900gt's in sli!)
with my windows xp pro installed and a bunch of games... plus some other goodies that you'll loveplaying anything at max settings was my goal when i built this, and it has not let me down.
i have a couple of antec cases, either one is available. one is black, the other a charcoal gray.
i think the best 3dmark05 score i got was just shy of 12k, and i don't remember 06, maybe 6700? who plays benchmarks, anyway? give me games with stable framerate and eye-candy

pm or post any questions
asking $650 obo

wont play crysis on max settings, ill tell you that.
And this computer is good for whats out there right now, but within the next year, it will be out dated as fuck due to the new games coming out that require dx10 (which i believe ur card is not), as well has HUGE cpu power (e6300 is slowly going out of the market).
Nice computer for what it is tho!

link, i would really appreciate you not bashing what i'm selling. take your speculation elsewhere.
i downloaded the crysis demo, and it does play well. for reference, when playing the unreal 3 demo, i get 80-90% of the framerate that my roommate's machine does (his is a quad-core with an 8800gts). that's pretty awesome, especially since he spent WAY more than i did.
i haven't done much playing of crysis, but it does play nicely - stable fps with eye-candy... just not the max (that would require you to belly-up a lot of cash, from what i've seen on other systems).
another neat point, shortly after neverwinter nights 2 was released, lots of people were crying about it being so jerky (even some with 7900gt and higher cards); mine plays perfectly with everything at max.i'd be happy to do some showing if anyone is interested. just pm and we'll go from there.

I'm just letting everyone know that within the next year, it won't be able to run the games that will be coming out (unless of course they do upgrades).
I'm not bashing it, I'm just putting info out there.

if all game manufacturers kept pushing the requirements up and up, they would fast find their customer-base dwindling to the elite few that can afford to upgrade every six months. that's why games like far-cry (which maxed out then top-o-the-line hardware) to crysis, (which does the same) scale down to be playable on nearly all modern hardware that meets a few requirements (for crysis, shader model 3, i believe).
there are a few reasons that blizzard is so huge, one is that their games are designed to be playable on nearly all common hardware, low or high end. that is another reason ubisoft is doing so well, as is relic; the games they back are largely playable on most modern hardware.
furthermore, there is a lot of discussion among designers to use opengl for games because it is incredibly portable, and if you can port a game from pc to xbox, ps3 or wii... than you've just increased your market drastically.
i'm not saying that this machine is the best out there, but i will say that it is on par with or just a little behind my roommate's pc in almost everything. another quirk, is that titan quest plays perfectly on my machine - on his, he experiences some jerkiness.
