KVLY and KXJB FTL...they are asking $1.8 million for a service that Cable One doesn't charge for...If it's free over the air it should be free for Cable One users (that's Cable One' philosophy)

Cable One charges $10/month for HD. They don't give the HD locals away at all so that argument is invalid.

But you don't need Cable One to get the local HD channels is what they are saying. If you have an HDTV tuner and an antenna to get the signal, it is still free.

You don't even need an "HD Antenna." An antenna is an antenna is an antenna.

I can understand CableOne charging for local HD channels as need to have equipment to handle the HD signals and whatnot.

With our Dish(can not remember which company) we get the local HD channels for no extra charge.

incorrect...my parents receive about 10 hd channels and do not pay extra.

I pay Cable One $10/mo extra for their HD programming, or maybe its for the HD DVR receiver, either way Cable One can blow me.

Kirk, I got my antenna from my work.

The local HD channels are included in your basic cable, you just have to have an HD tuner

The $10 a month is for the 'HD tier' which includes the cable channels like discovery hd or whatever.

Cableone would love you to think that you need the DVR to get the HD channels (in fact some people i know have actually been told that), but thats not true.

The dvr does function as an HD tuner, but If your TV has an HD tuner built in you can get the locals in HD and some other channels with your regular subscription, mine doesn't have a built in HD tuner so I use antenna, but my friend tony's TV does and it automatically adds the HD channels to the list, no extra cost.

They'd love you to get that DVR and the $10 HD tier tho 🙂
