Perfect 10 Car Show 2008 *Update*
-
i know i am on facebook....how about a rep who is also on FB setting up events for things happening in the area? such as P10, street legals, auto-x's and so on.
as for getting word out on other forums.....i am sure questions will be asked about can i enter this or that? do i have to have crazy mods done? and so on. how do you answer questions like that?
i know last mar for HIN Chicago there were some grand prix's that were unexpected. all 3 on dubs. one a wild paint job, one pretty stock but clean and the 3rd had lots of CF. well we all know they are not sport compacts. but they did get some attention.
not trying to push them, just wanting to get things in the open is all.
year before that there were several jeep's that were lifted and read for the rocks and mud as well as a few other lifted trucks. do they fit here?i for one am always scouring the boards and web to find events in the area to attend. it is not easy to do. i am a car guy. do not care what kind of car it is. i want to check it out. of course some i like more, but a well put together car is just that a well put together car and it deserves some respect in my book.
i would love to submit an entry for my GP, but it is not a sport compact as well as it is still stock. so really it does not fit in.
will stop there.

What would that be? Please specify.well i'm sure there will be families there, having girls running around with little to no clothing is tacky as hell. i can understand having them later in the day or at night. I went to car craft down it the cities and it was sick. Don't get me wrong guys there's nothing wrong with showing a little skin but there is a point when it's too much. What kind of message do you think there sending to younger girls that come? Take your clothes off and get some attention?

So are you against models completely around there? Or, just the scantily clad ones?
Example......
Do these women qualify as something that is "tacky"?

How about these?

or these

How about this young lady? Is she tacky?

Is she anymore tacky here with my 17 yr old?

Don't get me the wrong way. I'm mearely trying to guage what the female portion considers trashy, tacky, or offending.

Carcraft isn't bad at all, theres really nothing there that I can even see anyone being offended by, unless of course you went to the bikini contest that they usually have on sunday, in which case if you don't like that kinda thing why would you go?

I have watched things on TV that are WAY more offensive then what I have watched at any of the P10 car shows.
Being a Sport Compact type of show, certain things can be expected. I do not expect to change the TV and see two guys with their hands down each others pants and shit like that at 8pm on non-cable TV. But, it does happen.
My Dad goes to the P10 shows and didn't make comments except for the music, but he understand it goes with the younger crowds, just like when he was young.

Sport compacts/ sport bikes have become the motorsport craze of the current teenage generations. Along with shows displaying this motorsport, some other past times of the generation are to be expected, things such as loud music, awesome light shows, and girls in swimsuits... as John says, turn on your tv and just watch some of these shows. P10 will be much more mild than near anything on MTV/VH1

Take your clothes off and get some attention?I agree. Models are fine. But if you add more and more every year it will probably end up in less younger kids being able to go. Speaking from experience my parents already hate that I go to p10 and buy stuff from tintmasters because of what they THINK they represent. Just what I think

P10 will be much more mild than near anything on MTV/VH1I wanted to see where topic was going to go before I posted....Being it has sat for a bit with little response, I will give my input. I feel what Sonic is saying and respect her opinion, however I feel there is a line between car culture/sexy/attraction to a car/booth/bike, and over the top. The Midwest is very conservative and like Joel said, P10 is very mild compared to shows in LA/Miami/etc... I want to have attractive women, in a sexy outfit that will draw interest of those participating and attending the show. If you watch any of the reality shows (real world, Hills, etc..) you will see that Hollywood women are comfortable braless with sheer shirts, low "V" neck shirts, and skimpy skirts/shorts. You won't even see that extent at P10. Point is that I want this to be an all ages show, yet retain the car show culture. I could remove women completely from the scenario, but that would reflect on attendance/hype/overall experience. That is a fact, whether everyone approves or not. I think the official models of the past have been very tasteful, and some girls that came in their own outfits went to further extremes than the ones contracted to be there! So Sonic, I appreciate you concern, and I assure you that the P10 models are not to degrade women or to plant a twisted image in young girls minds.
On another note, I got confirmation from Shaun Cardinal (DJ Mixed Menace) on a few more P10 entries from Canada...per Shaun:
"Got a few RHD cars lined up for the P10 show, I'll have more concrete answers as the show gets near.
-2x Sil80's
-2x MR2
-1x SkylineSome of our G106 friends are coming to P10 as well, a muganized Midori Green EK is now a go. Trying to get the rest of his group from HIN MN last year to head out as well."
2008 P10 show continues to build build build. I look forward to the day!
Take Care all!

Also, it is kind of hard to control what people wear. There were people wearing alot more "trampish" things then the girls that are actually there in TM "model outfits"Mel your parents must not watch much TV go to movies or the mall do they?
yea but the ones wearing the "trampish" things dress that way more than just at a car show... I was just saying that you have all the other girls wearing "trampish" things plus the models. Do you really need anymore models?
And no they do not, if they did do you think they would let me out of the house? lol

[QUOTE=weshole;217024]So are you against models completely around there? Or, just the scantily clad ones?
yeah there tacky, the two with clothes on are not and the one in the black dress is good, she's beautiful and sexy but still has class. Girls dress slutty it's nothing new, i just thought these were to bring in more people, it seems just to be aimed at younger men. Thats just what i see. I don't know all the details and i'm reading up on it so don't jump down my throat yet lol i'm just getting opinions.
-
ok ok hold on guys lol I'm not saying that they all are like that. I have never been to a perfect10 show. I know you can't control what girls are wearing, if they wanna look like sluts that all them. I didn't know how the modeling thing went thats why i asked. A womens body is a beautiful thing ( well some anyway lol) I'm just saying guys are not the only ones interested in cars and shows anymore. I think you should have some male models up there as well, lol It's not just for guys anymore.

There is no need for MORE men at the show. Out of 3,500ish people that attended the show last year, I would bet 3,300 were guys. 99% of car entries are from men....(I would love to have girls enter their cars!)....
If a girl is looking for a guy 18-25ish, P10 is the spot to be! Pass that on to alllll your friends Sonic. I have about 3,000 guys that would love to meet them
