I heard joel injured his hand/thumb because his car ended up in a ditch.

I did not hear this from joel, and I have only heard rumor of the circumstances regarding what cause said accident.

For all I know it could be complete bullshit.

according to joel, it was raining really hard on his way home from work and someone in a truck in front of him slammed on his brakes and he took the ditch rather than hitting the truck. he says there's a little scrape on the back bumper from where he was towed out of the ditch but other than that the car is okay.
