Cruising.......
-
The one time I got into a saturday night around-town convoy (this was last summer) a big pile of carts almost rear-ended each other in a train.
As I recall, it was to make the University South -> 32nd Ave West turn. People were in both lanes on Uni and people were divebombing into the turn lane from the far left lane. I was back a little ways and saw this happening and just drove on past. There was a huge amount of brake lockup (lol at shitty cars with non ABS) and a few people who weren't part of the convoy almost got taken out.
I was pretty unimpressed with the quality of driving on display. I have to imagine most people knew that turn was coming..
There is nobody in this town capable of impressing me with their driving on the street. There are a lot of people I'd like to chat with about how they built their cars or what their road course experience is like. You don't accomplish either of those things when out cruising and standing around talking is free, so I vastly prefer the latter.

just CRUISING is boring, then all we are is a parade of cars that most people laugh at when we drive by.Better to be laughed at than to have the police called.
i like hanging out in the lots and everything but getting on it is way more fun. the parade cruises last WAAAY to long. go from one spot to another is the most they are good for, kmart to TB. TB to tintmasters. other than that its just wasting gas.
Couldn't agree more.
I think the last few posts indicate why there isn't as many people cruising as there used to be.

I thought that everyone here like/enjoyed cars as a hobby/sport or way of life for some. so why not cruise around and show off what you like to do. maybe you dont like the way the cruises are nowdays. well start your own cruises and at least come out, cause the scene around here isnt what it used to be. god i remember a shit ton of people meeting at the walmart parking lot like 2 summers ago that was a fun night!

I can't afford gas to go waste it driving around all night, but I'm down to show up and BS just about anytime. I'd just as soon chill out and maybe make one lap around town after a little and then go home or to the bar.See if u'd have a honda u could drive all night and waste like 1 gal of gas...

I just want to throw in my opinion so don't get mad at me. Back in the day, we used to go up to Broadway damn near every night. We would find a spot to park all of our cars and just hang out. Yeah the police would bug us, but we would just move. I miss those days. We all had a great time. The whole "spirited driving" thing, yeah I can see both sides but I think it is more fun to cruise as a group than to lose people at every other light. If people laugh at us, fuck them. At least they know we have a major presence in this town and, as stated before, their opinion of us being reckless might slowly change if they see us driving responsibly. And isn't the whole point to hang out and chat with people? I think that is the best part. So I agree that maybe rethinking how things are done could be a good thing. Ultimately, we all want to have a good time, so lets not forget that. If anyone doesn't agree with me, that's fine.

Here is my opinion on the car scene and why its going in the shit hole. Its everyones attitude towards other people while we are standing around for 5 hours at Tintmasters. If you ever look around while everyones there, nobody stands in a huge group anymore and talks. everyone is standing in like 5-6 person groups away from other groups and talking shit about everyone else. Not to mention, half the time we out driving, a good amount of people in the group drive like fuckheads. As far as im concerned, im done with the fargo scene. My car is currently getting a new motor in it cause i made a bad judgement and i accepted the consequences. While my car is on the lift, its getting everything put back to stock ride height and stickers coming off. Keeping my exhaust and tint cause i actually like them. Fargo scene is dead and its everyones fault

Oh boo fucking hoo. It's dead because people like you get upset with what others think. Do it becuase you WANT TO, not because everyone else is. Sounds like you chose to do it for all the wrong reasons, IMO.
true story,
thats how every car scene is, people stand in their groups and bs. get used to it. just because your not the center of attention doesnt mean the scene sucks.
its people like hammy that kill the scene.
