    UPDATED 7:57 p.m.
FARGO – Police responded to a collision early tonight between a motorcycle and a sport utility vehicle that left the motorcyclist dead at the scene in south Fargo.

Rescue workers were called to the intersection of 25th Street and 30½ Avenue South just after 6 p.m.

The motorcyclist was northbound when he hit a black Cadillac Escalade, said Fargo police Lt. Joel Vettel. The sport utility vehicle was turning south from 30½ Avenue, he said.

The unidentified motorcyclist was killed instantly.

At 7:15 p.m., police were interviewing the driver of the SUV and reconstructing the accident scene, which is in front of a shopping center with a Sunmart grocery store and several smaller businesses and eateries.

There was a few bike guys at the scene that I knew (Mike Monson being one), and nobody knew who he was. From Mike's visual it was an 04-05 CBR-600RR Silver/Blue. It was a mess at the scene for sure (very surreal), as there was brain particle sprayed 20-30 yards from where the accident happened. My condolences go out of the family. Just another reminder for the bike guys to put on the helmet.... 😞

That is CRAZY shit! I hope some of the wreckless bikers change their driving habits after this event. IT CAN happen to anyone.

almost everyone that rides a bike does stupid things at one time or another, its bound to happen. ragging on someone that just got killed in an accident is really low though.

Its one thing to do stupid things by yourself, it is another to involve innocent people that have to live with the sight of your brain matter splattered all over the place.

anything done on the road is going to endanger people and no one here can say that they have never done it. i think the victim and people close to him will be slightly more affected then the people that witnessed the accident. yes it is a lesson to everyone to try and control what you do on the road but it doesn't mean you should rag on someone that lost thier life because they made a mistake
