if the guys that owned civic had 40k to drop on just the drivetrain, yeah a 4 cly would make power to.
cool stuff but just goes to show that money can buy anything.

I'm gonna have to agree with this....
That engine bay way too ugly too... i mean TT V8's look cool, but all that chrome is just nasty...

You are now dumber for saying that, the only one ive seen even come close is that guy who made the 4 liter 4 cylinder for that dragster, that one can make around 1800-2000 at full tilt. And i havent heard a word about it for over a year. The cars nelson builds and sells make anywhere from 750hp all the way to 2500hp, and they all do it reliably with insane driveability.
How much money do you think a guy like Brent Rau has into that 4g63 to make 1000+whp? and it blows headgaskets all the time, gets rebuilt every few passes and runs on alcohol. This white camaro probably makes 1200-1300whp and has a fucking warrantee, can be driven cross country and back, then put on the dyno and make those #'s, not to mention it probably gets around 20mpg.

Gary your right about the reliability of the V8 compared to a 4cyl at the same HP. but the fact that only about 5% of the population of fargo could afford to drop that kind of cash on an engine like that and theres even a less percentage of people that are into race cars. Most of us "ricers" (I hate that freaking word) build what we can afford. and its alot cheaper to hop up a 4cyl than a V8.
this is like comparing a ferrari to a civic. you can rant and rave all you want about the ferrari and compare the specs to the civic, but the 99.99% will have to settle for the civic. all we can do is sit droooolll over what we cant have and probably never will have.

please explain.......ok, ask travis how much he has into his civic (its nothing extravegant, but respectable). I think he said he was putting down somewhere between 320-340 in his coupe and at the track he was running mid 12's.
I dont know very many people around here with V8's, but I am willing to bet it would cost more to build a v8 to see the same track times.
Im not saying thats the case everytime. but probably majority.
