http://www.maperformance.com/hallman-pro-rx-boost-controller.htmlI thought the pro rx was the in-cabin?
i havent seen them anywhere near that cheap, so imo...thats not a pro rx.
I COULD BE WRONG.
jason's customer support has been some of the best i have seen in any of the shops i have been. he put up with my ricerness, and was respectfull when i had to bail on him for p10 (at the butt crack of dawn...a week before the show), on top of that...he STILL gave me recognition for being there. so ill shop there..if i can.

http://www.maperformance.com/hallman-pro-rx-boost-controller.htmlYup, that is apples to apples and $45 dollars off our price and $50 off MSRP. If you are looking to buy one, I could certainly call Hallmann and ask for a deal?

The one for MAP?MAP performance sells stuff very cheap, to cheap. This is not the only time I have seen this type of pricing difference.
There is always people on the internet and ebay that sell stuff that devalues a market, there always will be. Many of our customers have played this route, and it only takes once of getting the wrong part/defective product/waiting a few weeks for a replacement before they see a value in retail vs. online price whoring.

Arguing with a 'mentally challenged' individual is always a lose-lose...Cause even if you win the argument, you're still an idiot...So I will bow out

Pro RX is a ceramic ball vs. a non ceramic ball, and the pro rx includes an upgraded spring to run more than 5psi over wastegate pressure. Either can be in-cabin controlled, or just under hood.
Thanks for the props.

I think I can rest my case. Look I'm all for supporting a local business, but if the pricing is that far out there, then "having a face" to return the product to in case of a defect or something really isn't worth all that much. Especially if the service you have received there in the past has not been the best. You can blame it on price whoring all you want but in the end if you can't have a competitive price you WILL lose business.

Its a awsome place to buy, and sell stuff(if you know what your doing). I have been burned on ebay, but learned my lesson. You just have to be smart about what you buy on there, if its dirt cheap its a scam or knock off junk.
IDK about ruining the market as much as me questioning the quality of the product they are selling or the quality/rep. of the company that is selling it. When I see places selling stuff for over $300 less then my cost on it, it raises a flag in my mind.

Tintmasters IS the import car performance shop in town. They don't have that much competition and they're the only of their kinda around here so they can price whore all they want They can find a way to get all of the support of the local car scene because there isn't anyone else. The service I've gotten there has always been sub-par. The employees have always seemed less than enthusiastic about answering my questions.

The few times that I actually was greeted and they were more than happy to do whatever were the times I bought stuff from the store, and was happy paying whatever price even if I knew I could have got it cheaper online. But most of the time I just get some pissed off glare from the people in the office.

I will point out that map is an actual shop, and is some what local (that was one of the links and having no shop/buisness to physically deal with was mentioned). They do have some very good deals because they do crazy quantities of goods, I believe they have 4 full time guys running the phones just for orders.

It all costs money, and we make that money off of profit on selling/installing parts. Whereas that guy on Ebay doesn't have an investment in anything after he hands your order to UPS.You forgot to mention that everyone thinks you work for free too and don't deserve a paycheck, to make a decent living, and god forbid maybe, just maybe get yourself something worthwhile from time to time. I feel your pain brutha.
And just for the record, I called Jason on some stuff a week or so ago inquiring on price and availability. And guess what, he was CHEAPER than anybody on EGHEY! Kudos to you Jason and everyone at Tintmasters. Fuck the haters. EVERY single employee there has always treated me with the utmost respect and always made me feel welcome there.

You are welcome Wes, and with that, I will leave this thread to die.
Happy Holidays all! :icon_rendeer:

I did have a bad experience there once or twice. I think it was because I was driving the cougar, and because it and I, were usually not welcome in that parking lot Tintmasters does not appear to be going anywhere so there must be something to their business model. I would consider my store "competition" in some areas for Tintmasters and I can totally understand what Jason is saying. The proof that you can get it on the internet for cheaper is unequivocal. However they have to cut operating costs somewhere. It has been my experience that those places are paying exactly the same amount that, for lack of another example, Tintmasters is for their parts. So you do the math where are they cutting costs? No sponsorships, check, no store, check, no competent salespeople, check. It might be different for some of you but when I am modding my car I ask a lot of questions about the parts I'm buying. Websites usually don't have all the answers.

While customer service with a smile is nice and usually a "requirement" for most businesses, I'd be willing to bet that most of the time the person behind that smile at sears/wherever is saying "HURRY THE **** UP AND BUY THIS OR LEAVE".
Not saying you should have to put up with a salesman who is being a complete dick but I HIGHLY doubt anyone at Tintmasters is like that. I've been in there a few times and gotten pricing on some stuff and have no complaints.
If you want to complain about a business my #1 hated business is Site On Sound.
-
A friend and I were both looking at buying sound systems for our vehicles about...ehh...2 or 3 years ago. We went in there once and browsed for probably 15-20 min and never had a single person come help us...we were 2 of the 3 total customers in the shop with 2 or 3 guys working sitting doing nothing.
A few days later I came in with my friend again, and we had no help at all, but I had $400 in cash on me. I pulled it out and started counting the 20's and suddenly we had a guy come over and offer assistance to us. We said "Nah just looking" and left...prick.

That and how many reputable auto performance stores online do you know of that has no return policy...Drifterextreme, correct me if im wrong, but didn't you buy tires for the s2k from TM's and they got the wrong ones and created a big fiasco that they ended not wanting to own up for?
no offense TM
