Ok...I rejoined just to get into this argument.
Tintmasters has a shop/bldg they need to pay for. They have multiple full time employees. They provide a service beyond "Click-here, pay now". They aren't perfect and certainly won't make everyone happy, but no one will really.
If you aren't willing to support your local shops, don't bitch when you don't have a place to race next year or when the "scene" collapses around town. Also, don't let one experience of them not being able to beat a price get you down about them as a whole. They buy from legitimate sources, provide a legitimate warranty and are going to stand behind their work....sometimes you will find that killer deal online that you feel you need to take advantage of. I think I can speak for tintmasters when I say that they won't hold your decision to do business elsewhere from time to time against you. Now if you come in copping and attitude about "well, I can get xyz part cheaper elsewhere...." you may get blown off....if you go in and say "hey guys, I really want to buy from you, but there is a website selling these products insanely cheap, can you beat/come close to their prices..." you are much more likely to get a favorable response. Also, just because they are more expensive on one thing, don't automatically assume they are more expensive on everything. They get special deals from their vendors from time to time as well.
Keep in mind that not every store/shop pays the same price for things from vendors. Right now, I am on the best plan with a couple of my vendors (direct w/ company) so I get deals that the next guy won't...but yet I find the same products online for LESS than I pay at the super preferred rate. How is this possible? Only 3 ways:
Other dealer bought out the inventory of another failing shop at below cost (grey market) -or-
Online dealer is dealing in stolen product (Black market) -or-
Online dealer is dealing in counterfeit product (Grey/Black market)Do you really want to do business with someone doing the above activities?

I appreciate you taking the time to write all that. Being you are in business (along with Jake), you both understand retail and how it has evolved into 'you have to compete with internet pricing or you are a 'rip off'. There are a few on this site that will never shop here, and I already said I accept that. We will continue to do what we do, and hopefully be here to help host events around the area for many years to come. This thread honestly needs no further input.
Thanks Chuck/Jake.
