I had a something similar happen. I had gotten my leg cut fairly bad at a previous job, it healed up and I got some scar tissue, but roughly 4-5 years later it got all infected and my leg from the knee down swelled up to at least twice the normal size, all out of nowhere. I had to go to the ER when it didn't get any better and they loaded me up on antibiotics which took care of it. It was weird how just out of nowhere it happened for no real reason I can think of.

I'm missin a finger on my right hand and yeah, years later i had tiny pieces of bone still comin out, but none for at least ten, mine wasn't a saw though, caught my ring on the back of a street sign..lol i was young and dumb.....
