Wait a second here Matt.....as much as I agree about the "owing them something" statement you made, the speaking their native language in public thing bugs me that people complain about it.
My grandma, who was born in this country 94 years ago, still speaks German when she is with her friends in public....she speaks great English as well though. Why does she do it? She was raised speaking German at home until she got to school where she learned English as were many of her friends. For her it is more natural to articulate what she is thinking in German than in English.....especially to her friends who grew up the same way.
So, do I think they should learn our language? Yes. But to expect them to learn it overnight and not revert back to what they spoke most of their lives and what many of their parents still speak is asking a bit much IMHO.

Why it bugs is because how do i know what the fuck there saying about me, and you know it makes them look bad when there taking perfect English and then they start blabbing in w/e, it makes you wonder WTF are you saying????

Last i heard the car had a salvaged title and they paid 80k for it. I say they cuz i also heard there is 5 different people paying for that car. i saw some 5 foot 2 bosnian girl driving it the other day.

But English is NOT the official language of the USA. Never has been....probably never will be. Most people do speak English here as their "native" language, but there are still plenty that don't.

Now to address Groshong. The "overnight" thing was meant towards recent immigrants to this country....as for my Grandma, she is a stubborn ol' German lady, you are more than welcome to try and convince her that her German language isn't welcome here but don't say I didn't warn ya.
As for them talking about you....who cares if/what they are saying? I mean, if you have nothing to hide, you should have nothing to feel bad about. Are you that paranoid/conceited that you feel that everyone is talking about you and those around you? And if they are, so what?
Think about this: If you wer 14-16 years old and your parents moved you to a non-english speaking country, how long would YOU continue speaking english to your family? How long would it take you to learn the nuances of the native tongue....especially one that is as evolving and diverse as english?

Wanna know whats really bad? The stinky blacks and india's that sit in their little "herds" in the middle of isles in stores like walmart, target, etc and just talk in their foreign language.

Very inconsiderate. I'm going to have to agree with Traffic Jamz and say, imagine if we dropped you in the middle of somewhere else, and said that you were forbidden from speaking english.
Most of these forgeigners in the midwest that I've met, have made a great effort into integrating into our society and speak english very well. If they wish to speak there foreign tounge with each other or individuals whom speak the same native language, that is fine by me.
