Gimme Gimme Gimme......
I bought a horse from Make a Wish Foundation that they gave to a little girl named Mona who was sponsored by Louie Anderson and had bone cancer. She died a terrible and very painful death and never asked for anything, her parents did. I truly feel bad for you but this gimme-gimme crap is out of line. Think of the little kids, the ones much younger than you are who have TERMINAL problems. Do you really want to get in the way of letting a 6 year old go to Disneyland? I may be out of line since I dont know more about your case but this hits home with me and asking for performance cars and free turbo shit pisses me off in a big way. I wish you the best and will pray for a full recovery but lets save Make A Wish grants for little-uns who never will get to drive, race, play, or enjoy much of life. You know...... the ones who were born with pain. I know this sounds harsh but you an adult an I am sure you will be open to my opinion. We will to pray for you.

He's 17, not 6...Disneyland isn't exactly his "wish" anymore. He's more sophisticated than being satisfied by a guy in a Mickey Mouse costume. And think of what would be going through your head just getting the news he got at 17...I know I wouldn't be this positive if it were me.

Way to completely miss the point. But thanks for your 2 cents.
Crack another cold one and go back to watching TV.Asking for a Ninja doesnt exactly make my eyes well up. If you want to see people deserving of MAW let me know and I will show you a thousand little kids who wont make 12 years old who really deserve the foundations time. A crotch rocket from Make A Wish gimme a fuckin break.

Crack another cold one and go back to watching TV.Good one. Too bad I haven't drank in about a month. Anyway, I'm fairly certain I could grasp your point quite well. I understand how you see it like that, but you have one example of a girl that didn't ask for anything and that makes him a bad guy? Life>Car. You and I hopefully have 20-30-40+ years left to own a ton of cars. The way I understand the situation, it is largely UNKNOWN what is going to end up happening. Like I said, I understand your point, I was just trying to point out a counterpoint. Don't forget HIS state of mind.
I'm also not saying it's neccessarily right, but who am I to judge at this point? After all, it is up to them(MAW), is it not?

I am not trying to hold you down and piss on your head, or his. I am saying that if I were him (and I have been in a very similar situation) I wouldnt be looking for freebies, I would be focused on recovery. I will skip out of this thread and continue to wish him well. Having been told at 16 that I would never walk again I am sure outrunning the fuckers who told me that eh!
I guess I fucked up and should have been begging for a Ferrari instead of doing PT to learn to walk again.
I always do shit wrong damn it!And stop calling me Shirley.

i was always under the impression that MAW was for kids who had terminal illnesses.

I have to agree with 63vette, Im all for being positive, and if you get something nice, cool. If you had said, should I ask for a trip to a tropical beach, or a foreign country, or to meet a celebrity, something reasonable, that would be cool. But asking for a bunch of very expensive stuff, and asking for everyone to do stuff for you, basically sounds like you are trying to pimp the system and get anything you can out of your misfortune....maybe im just not one to ask people for stuff very much.

lolI can see both sides of this..... don't think anyone is out of line
I can too...that's why I leave both sides up and refuse to delete one post or the other. I'm just wondering how many "Take this shit down, these guys are just making fun of a kid with cancer...." type thread reports I will get from Matt/Del Slow over the next several days.
