Sport Compact Turbo Evo/Sti event

Blousch (sp?) turbo and CBRD sponsored this event. it was a lot of fun. out of the 5 cars we brought, 4 of them qualified for the top 8.
i only ran in qualifing rounds, my first 2 werent that great. the first half mile of the track was all waves, dips and potholes. the staging lanes were up hil so the cars would roll back prior to launching.
i ended up going 12.6 @ 120 on my last pass. I dropped 4th gear and lost my clutch in the previous round. so i only went 1-3 on my last pass, and just coasted 4th.
of the other qualfied cars, one blew a head gasket, one lost fuel pressure, and the other red lighted in round one.
IMO, it was not worth it to make this trip. my car is now a 4-spd, and i need a clutch..all of this for a lousy 12 second pass. the the videos are finished ill post them up.

That sounds like a bummer overall, but I'm sure it wasn't a half bad time while you were there.
Why the crummy track? That's a little odd I'd say, for a planned event to be held at a bad track.
I think its Bloush, but there may be a "C." They did the turbo upgrade on my car, pretty good work. The machining on the compressor housing is incredible.

i have no idea about the track. all of these event are in NJ and PA. Imports vs. Domestic is at MIR. but then you only get 4 passes in 14ish hours.

lol.... yeah because I am willing to bet that both the gold and white hatch combined have less money into them than your car........
and what times were they running? my memory is lacking
and lol at arguing an evo against a honda.. its the same thing but is fatter, has a rear diff, and 4 doors ....... your engine sill sits the same way as the "econo honda" but yet yours has nothing on a B series

yup, gold hatch crashed a head, after that was fixed the bottom end seized on the dyno. cheap, yes..fast yes..broken..yes. (no offence to vanyo) My ENGINE is still in one piece running flawlessly.
isnt the white hatch on engine rebuild number 3 also??? i remember it being N/A and blowing up. then after a season it rebuilt and boosted, blew up again...right?? ending up with a sleved block and HUGE turbo...still only in the 10s...i bet that all was cheap. where is that car now?? (im asking because i really dont know).
so between these 2 cars...there are 5 engine rebuilds (or new engines completly), 3 turbo kits, and a couple cages...i could be missing something. with out including the price of the car...id say they got me on this part, unless tufte decided the just give away these things.
yea, civics and evos are totally the same...yea bro. totally identical except for the whole...4 door...awd...factory turbo...torque thingy. but only becasue my engine "sits" the same.
I like how you say my car has "nothing" on hondas, when i havent even made a clean pass on it yet. I dont know about you, but i think for only using 3 gears, while coasting through the traps at 120...is pretty quick.

when you are trapping 140 like tufte we will see if your engine is still "running flawlessly" ...perhaps you will be on your 6th T-case by then??
Its still funny because for all the money you have in your car you could have bought an actual car like a c5... sprayed a 150 shot and been faster in ET and trap... and have been cheaper... and not break shit every pass

Now whether or not that same power gets to the ground in a favorable fashion is another story. bottom line being, im not worried about my engine.

Just thought I'd throw this out there:
in 6 years of drag racing the integra I broke the following things:
1 set of ringlands on OEM pistons (nitrous on stock motor)
1 RING GEAR
1 set of JE Pistons (my fault, fucked up the tune.)
0 OEM AXLESFuck those hondas are garbage.

let me explain the way traffic is like in norther virginia, imagine a 5 lane intersate (i say 5, but its 3, with 2 lanes of HOV)
and all 5 are at a dead stop. thats my commute. 30 miles of it to work and back every day. i would like to see a lsx mpg in that kind of traffic.

in the 5 years i spent going to IDR...i saw said integra there maybe 4 times...true racer bro. you should have raced with the clutchmasters integra.
