I finally have the manifold in my possession now. Thanks to Max. The manifold is OK, nothing more than that. It looks good to the untrained eye but there are a hand full of issues. It will get the job done though. I should have it back from the machine shop by Saturday since the head flanged needs to be resurfaced badly. I'll have to take it down about 4-5mm to get it flat.Do you seriously bitch about everything? There are a few things that came up that were unexpected, but that happens when you mock up a manifold for the first time. After the first one or even few you find out were things warp what pulls certain directions, etc.... Again i quote price as that is what it is the first manifold for the motor/jig.
In the future i know i need to pre-bow the head flange and possably make a jig for certain runners so they are held solid when i weld them. these are just some things that happen.

I will make it perfectly clear and take pictures of my observations when I have time. I am free to make any comments I please about the manifold. Its not bad by any means, but there are things that bother me. If you are so experienced building 50+ manifolds like you said, I would have expected you to know better. Again im a fool for making such assumptions.
And just so everybody knows my 100% out of pocket cost for this:
Manifold Material Payment: $258
Gas to and From Fargo: $65
Bus tickets to and from Fargo: $90
Head Flange:100
Waste Gate flange: $25
Payment to Max for getting the manifold to me: $100 (this is my choice of course and can be omitted based on individual opinion)
Shipping costs: $40
Head flange resurfacing: $25Total:$603
Yes, still a bargain for a manifold but MY cost of this product is much more than $250
I am omitting all the other complications that his lateness has caused me which also include, but not limited, to loss of money. -

Trust me when i say i would have gladly shipped it free of charge if i had known that. So if you want the shipping cost repaid i can send that anytime. As i was totally in the dark to that and i don't think that is right.

What do I know? I know how to run a LEGIT business. That's what I know.So your saying never once has a "legit" business made a mistake and go over the quoted time frame to complete a job? (ie: construction).
Get your head out of your ass.

That's a ridiculous oversimplification. Sure seemed like a lot more than a simple mistake to me.

Don't even attempt to tell me other "legit" manifold shops haven't been late. But for people that have no association to Max and myself, to talk about this topic like I did the worst thing ever.......
Go ask peakboost a "legit" company in most people standards about there 4+ months waits that unexpectedly came up. so as much as i don't like it took this long after the 2 weeks. you fail to realize that others on AVERAGE wait way way longer.
So why don't we just end this pissing match as nothing is going to come of it.

Once? I know of 2 incidents where you were LONG over the quoted time.
And don't pull the quoted time bullshit, because if you would actually do the work, shit would get done. But no, you work when you want. THAT is why you are a huge case of fail. The customer is always #1. Does not matter the circumstance. Learn it or fail.

So let's say $600 for a one off manifold build from scratch in 4 weeks is bad?
-
I don't think anyone is saying his turnaround is bad, the bad part is that he said it would be done in X amount of time, and it wasn't. Wouldn't have been a big deal if a time wasn't specified.

lulz, i love how cool people sound on the internet

I agree Joe, I understand why Max (xracer) was upset that it wasn't done in the time quoted, but really the only "costs" that should really be included on there are:
Manifold Material Payment: $258
Head Flange:$100
Waste Gate flange: $25
Head flange resurfacing: $25for a total of $398...
The other stuff he was going to be paying for anyway.
