That not really true either here's why. General motors does not manufacture the H2, merely the components. The front chassis is based off of a slightly modified 3/4 ton GM truck frame, the center however is all AM general, and finally the rear is an extensively reinforced 1/2 ton chassis to get the towing capabilities up. The entire thing is put together by AM General with very good skid plates, a two speed transfer case, locking diffs, etc. So its pretty much its own truck. Does it share some parts with other GM trucks? Sure. But that does not make them equal, crawl underneath both sometime and you'll see.
