I got $195 back...a lot more than I was expecting. This thread turned my shitty day into a wonderful day; seeing 'free' money and all.

i had a $300 racing/careless ticket, and a 160 dollar illegal vehicle ticket were bombs on mine.

How is the city paying for all of this? It's actually fucking the city. The city was self-insured but based on this class-action suit and the girl-who-ran-off-of-university problem, the city is going to have to deplete a bunch of funds, such that they are no longer self-insuring, and then join the state level metro-government insurance pool.
I think the court made the right decision in telling the city it couldn't arbitrarily set fines, but made the wrong decision in issuing refunds to people. The fine schedule was published and available; anyone choosing to break the law knew what the penalty would be.
I can't beleive the size of some of these checks. Are you guys morons?

JESUS CHRIST ERIC!!!! Thats terrible, I actually didn't put in for the class action suit, probably wouldnt have been worth my time. In any case I deserved every fine I got.
Eurofan if you have any outstanding tickets just call the Sheriff's office they'd be happy to come by and serve a warrant. -

Just so you know i got money back from ticket as for back as 05' so in 5 yrs that quite a bit of time to rack up a few tickets. Where not all 50 yrs old.
I had a racing, 95-75, 60-40, stop sign, random other speeding ticket, and a careless driving.
All in all not to bad, even though i do wish my insurance was a bit lower.
