Exhaust shops
-
Are there any exhaust shops in town that could possibly cut out my rear cats, or do you guys know anyone personally that would be able to do it for me? Having four cats on my car is just not workin, need the exhaust note to sound a little better. I know there arent many places anywhere that are okay with doing that, as it is probably illegal (not sure just guessing)

exhaust pros on main might. They never said anything to me about putting new exhaust on my truck when I already didnt have any cats on it.
Or you could just cut off the cats yourself then go to exhaust pros and they will weld in some pipe for you. and they are cheap

Exhaust pros bitched at me when they went to replace a muffler when they saw my old crx not having a cat... And they came across as douches...

This thread is the equivalent of asking where in town you can go to buy weed. Not a clever thing to ask or answer in public.
It is a federal crime to remove a catalytic converter from a road-driven vehicle. Some exhaust shops in town have signs saying so.. followed by "don't even ask".
I've had one shop tell me that if i brought the car in on a trailer with no plates and no tabs and no evidence that it was street driven, they'd build me a catless exhaust.
Maybe a clever person could take their exhaust
(including cats) all the way off at home, and then drive to a shop and ask for the guys to build them a pipes-and-cans only setup.Maybe a clever person could cut up their existing exhaust at home and bring in the non-catalyst peices, so that the flanges and rough dimensions and bends would already be there and the shop would just have to do some straight-pipe fitting and joining with a spatter-welder. If none of these peices were ever actually on a vehicle while on the premises of the shop, that might make it even more likely to happen.

And.. anyone that even asks could care less of the huge fuckin fine the shop has to pay if they are caught doing such modifications cuz "four cats are just not workin".

That would involve thinking for yourself and actually taking some initiative. not to mention, doing something for ones self.

Just gut the cats out. They'll still be there physically but they're empty on the inside. Kind of like a lot of FS members.

Best bet is to find somebody with access to a stall, then do it after hours all hush-hush. It's (I think) a $10k fine to run with no cat, and it's worse for businesses. Dealerships can lose their franchise over it.
And yes, I have heard of people actually get fined by the government after authorities take notice. But hey, the government does offer payment plans...

Best bet is to man up and just fucking do it rather than sit on the internet and attempt to acquire street cred by letting people know that you are removing the cats on your shitbox. Any other questions?I'm not trying to gain respect by doing something illegal. I am not a criminal nor am i black so i have no need to wave my ignorant disregard for the law around on an internet forum. I figured some people on here might know some places or people in fargo that could do it for me. This site IS called FargoStreet and all.
