TPMS sensors
-
I bought some wheels that came with these TPMS sensors they worked for about a month but then the error light started flashing, anyone ever deal with these things before, they are specifically for a Nissan Altima, has anyone ever heard anything about resetting these? Or should i just let em go on ebay?

You said they are specifically or a Nissan Altima so i assume you drive an altima as well. If you dont then it's obvious why they aren't working...but yes, one has probably died or you need them reset...unfortunately for a Nissan you more then likely have to go to the dealer to have the sensors reset.

There isn't that many different sensors so I think the ones you have will work with your car however if you never had them programmed that's what the error is. It requires a special tool but pretty much any tire shop should be able to make short work of that.

They came with the wheel and tire set I bought used and since my car utilizes the function, There really isn't any disadvantage to put a little effort into getting the little things to work properly.

One thing that I just ran into was a Honda where the TMPS went off roughly a month after ownership of the aftermarket wheels. The sensors themselves went bad...well, 4 sensors later (and a couple years later) we determined the wheels were actually leaking moisture, causing the sensors to corrode. Super rare, but ask them to check that while mounting just to be safe. By the time we figured it out, it was past warranty for the rims.
