Laptop or laptop repair

Looking for something used just for internet at home. I rarely use the internet at home to justify a $500 purchase.
I have a Toshiba and a Dell and both if them used up the usb ports, pcmcia card will work for small stuff like I-pod and camera stuff but not enough for usb internet card.

http://fargo.craigslist.orgNot a fan of buying something like a computer on Craigslist, at least on a forum you can hassle a guy if I found something wrong with it.

i got the asus eeePC with win7 starter on it at best buy for $279. got it for my wife while she was stuck in the hospital.it works great.
for not alot more you can get a normal screen (this one is 1024x600 which is a bit too short IMO)
I see the asus 12.1" screen, my eyes could probably handle that, and under $500.

.You're THAT guy? When you buy it on craigslist you generally have a phone number to the person, and you meet face to face? It's really no different than a forum at all.
I've bought 10+ laptops on craigslist with zero issues. It's fargo craigslist, you have like a .1% of getting screwed...no different than ebay...actually better than ebay because you can touch/use the item before you hand over the money. Craigslist is where the deals are these days...just lowball the shit out of people.

Best buy has some toshibas on sale. Hell, they had a L455 model for $299. They are normally $350, but I told them I saw it for $299 online and they gave it to me.
Here is another one.

I'm not a computer guy so I wouldn't know what to look for. Not all issues come right away like shutting off after extended use stuff like that. I see your point though.

There's a guy named Steve who lives at 410 21st in Fargo (I think that's the address, it's the last house before a big stretch of empty grass going south). I contacted him about an ad on craigslist for Compaq laptops, and he had a bunch of stuff available. For my 14.1" with an AMD Turion ml32 and 512 ram, I spent $200, and the same price for a variation of the same model with an Intel Pentium M.
He's a pretty hip guy, you could probably stop by in the afternoon and find him at home.
