NOS ENERGY DRINK and 93X DRIFT-IN

Hey guys im going to be competing in this drift event at raceway park in shakopee on this saturday the 18th. I know its short notice but if you dont have anything better to do, come to the cities and watch some drifting.

So this event was a blast and i learned alot. It was a long day of practice but there was 41 cars there to practice and learn how to drift. the course was pretty fast, it was a figure 8 with some crazy clipping points. There was people there that had never drifted before and there was people there that were at the top of points in midwest cup formulaD pro am. so it was a crazy day.
Well after practice we got about an hour break to get our cars ready for the qualifying round. Only 25 cars decided to try to qualify into the top 16. Each person was given 2 qualifying runs and the best of the 2 would decide who you were placed up against. My first run was horseshit, I straigtened out twice and didnt hold a great line. My second run was right on point, I carried the whole course hitting all the clipping points and getting nice and close to the wall. I qualified 9th and had to go against the #8 qualifier for top 16.
During the top 16 I was kinda nervous. it was my first time ever drifting in front of a packed crowed that actually knew what drifting is. Also the first time drifting in the dark. during the top 16 my first run was horrible and i thought i was done, I came off the first bank and didnt have the angle i would have like and spun coming off the second bank. Luckly the guy i was going against also spun so the judges called a ONE MORE TIME. We went again and i had alittle better run but not as good as i would have liked. Again to my luck the other guy came out of the first bank and blew a intercooler pipe and i was awarded the win.
moving on to the great 8 was awesome, but i had to go against a guy that is top of points in Midwest Cup formulaD proam. I knew i had to try to do something crazy, so i entered the first bank about 20ft earlier then I did all day. In turn it screwed up my line and i straightend out coming out of the first bank. in turn I lost that round. Owell i lost to an amazing driver and i learned alot.
8th out of 25 that competed, i feel pretty good.
Thanks to everyone that has helped me this season. I have alot to do this winter for next year, stay tuned for some bigger and better things.
