I was planning on buying a Porsche 997.2 GT3(or a Turbo) but Nissan lured me back by increasing the horsepower in the new GT-R to 530bhp (from 485bhp), tweaked the suspension, and made launch control a real feature that doesn't void warranty. It's suppose to run a sub 3 second 0-60 and get to 100 in 7.

            Just a question...why would you buy a GT3 over a GT2?

Is this the GT-R that has the transmission made specifically for the car, or did they finally learn to not do that?

Because a GT2 is way too much money and is impossible to get. Plus its one of those cars that just end up being garage queens. No thanks. I want something that I can drive
A Porsche GT2 is an unhinged 6 cylinder twin turbo. Its stupid expensive. The regular GT2 is $200k, real wheel drive, and has 530 bhp. The ultimate GT2 is the GT2RS. It has 620 hp and is $250k. Valley Imports has one on the floor now. Its sick. Older GT2s were nicknamed "widow makers". Very difficult cars to master.
A Porsche GT3 is a pure track animal. Its a naturally aspirated 6 cylinder vehicle. It has 430 hp in its base configuration and 450 in the RS version. They run between $120k-$160k. The GT3 is considered by many many people to be the perfect track car and the best 911 made.
I don't know what you mean on the GT-R question. The tranny is definitely only for the GTR. Its about half the reason the car has such out of this world performance.
Costly piece of equipment. $20k to replace.

they keep vdc on and reflashed to increased shift speeds, newb. now you can launch four times before a mile and a half cool down victory lap are required. when it costs a fifth of the sticker price they had to figure out how to make it work.

i agree, though, that is the best color yet.

Getcher green hat, we are goin fishin.

                              Looks good!

I saw a GTR at Texas Roadhouse last weekend with Kline Nissan plates on it. However, I though it was a grey/black one.

They sold a used one to some guy in Carrington. This is the first upgraded GT-R they've sold (and they only have 3 allocations this year) and the first one in Minnesota or North Dakota. Its the 40th one built by Nissan for the US.

So was that your GT-R cruising down main the other day looking dirty as hell? 😄
If it was, even in all the dirt and grime, it still caught my eye. 🙂
