The RFL had it's moment in 2005ish, as being the loudest "I have a turbo AND BOV" mod available. The problems 99.425% of buyers have experienced were:

            1. It seized, causing the top of it to fly off of it due to pressure
            2. Top flew off after a bit of use, due to aluminum threads that are tiny and would strip themselves raw of threads
            3. Become useless unless lubed nearly monthly (the 'o' ring on the valve loses its ability to slide easily, causing a boost leak)
            4. Blew off too easily over time, as the spring inside became to soft, requiring 10+ washers to keep it on target
            5. Attracted a ton of attention, which although often sought after, leads to people wanting to 'race' on the streets
            6. Every shift has a loud annoying blow off (when #1-#4 weren't present)
            7. Given the mechanical quality poorness, never really offered what it was intended for....protecting your vehicles components

Jeff, if you want a quality BOV, stay away from the BOV's that are not 'maintenance free'. HKS, Greddy, Tial, etc... are good options. In my years of experience, I would personally avoid the TurboXS unit as well as the Perrin BOV, although the Perrin unit is a better design that shouldn't blow apart, it still requires your to lube the 'o' ring on the valve semi-regularly.

Wow, I did not know that, thanks.

Anyone have a good reliable BOV then?

In my experience the TurboXS RFL BOV didn't stand for "Really fucking loud" but rather "Really fucking leaky"
