Who's joined the service?

Talked to the recruiter today. We've been talking for awhile now but we finally met today and had supper and talked about what woul happen basically. Just curious as to if any of you are enlisted or going to soon. What motivates you to do it? Im considering going full time into the Army if that matters.

Well i'm in the army reserve and i have got alot of good memories from it i was sent over seas in jan. of 2003 and was gone for almost a year, met some good people and it has been an overall okay experince for me, but on the other hand i've missed alot in my life due to the army i've spent probley alot of my time that i didn't want to with the army i've had to skip certian things that i didn't want to and if you are planning on collage the money is damn good if you use the system right but hard to finish if you get sent over seas if you have any other ? pm me i can answer anything, also think about the reserve or national guard the money is still good and less comitment except for the time.

I would say it all depends on what you want out of it. In the six years I have been in, I have a TON of cool training, a Top Secret Security clearance, free Associates and Bachelors degrees (Now working on Graduate degree). I got to travel all the way to Minot, ND from Myrtle Beach, SC OUCH!. Overall, my experience has been good. Due to the nature of my career field, I don't deploy though. You will do that in the Army and most likely you will be in the middle of everything. Not saying I wouldn't do it, but it is nice to know I am coming home every night to see my daughter.
