Window Tinting?
-
I tinted a quarter window and a roll down window once. I think tint prices should be double, that shit sucks!

Not to start a pissing match here at all. Our store in the cities is charging the same as we do here, and is doing just fine. The reason is in how the tinting is done and what type of tint is used. We could no problem, charge $100 for a tint job. But the majority of the people that have seen the quality of the tint and the work that we have previously done would not accept it, even at the cheaper price. The style of tinting that I do is alot different than any other place out there PERIOD. When I go to a tinting seminar they can not believe what I charge for a tint job. Then I tell them how I do it and then they understand, but they still ask me why I just don't bang it out and charge less...... I guess my standards are alittle higher than that. Before anyone starts hating on me about this and the way "I" tint is not different than anyone else in this area. 10 years ago when I started this business in Grand Forks there was a tint shop that did the $120 tint job. 2 years later he was gone. 4 years ago when I started the shop here in Fargo there was 2 places that did the $150 tint job 1 year later they were gone. Now there are a few other tint shops in the area that do the $200+ tint job. But let us not forget that the employees of those shops were trained by me. Not stealing any light from them. Because I would take any of them back and let them tint for me again. They are all great tinters and friends. But I have raised the bar for the quality standard of tinting very high. And once you do that it's pretty hard to change. One thing that we have that sets us apart is that with our tint there is a lifetime warranty even if you purposly damage the film. Something I worked on for a very long time was to become a Diamond Dealer for Sungard film. Having this factory recognized title is not easily attainable. It doesn't matter how much tint you buy or how many people you know. It is based on your ability and your attention to detail. There are no other Diamond Dealers in North Dakota. And one last thing... We are also the only Diamond dealer in Minnesota. And there are a ton of Sungard dealers in both states. End of rant......................No i didn't want a pissing match i was just curious thats all, I got tint done from you back when you were behind Team Electronics here in Grand Forks. I also understand how long it takes cause its sitting there to cure and everything. But, if the car sits in your shop our outside curing are u charging customers shop time for it to cure? Cause lets say it takes 2 hrs to do a car (3 windows) and the tint costs you 50 bucks (just a guess) that would be 40 bucks an hr plus 50 bucks. Which would make the job 130 bucks give or take a 10 dollar bill or so. Is there extra fees for the car sitting in you shop? I'm just trying to understand, I know I need to get my beretta back in to get the doors done, but do you know if you can do the back window of a beretta yet with 1 peice of tint instead of 2?

Durrr.... uhhhh.... No we do not charge for your car to sit in the shop or outside. No it does not take 2 hours to tint a car. No our tint does not cost $50 a car.
Why is it cheaper to go to "Buffalo Tom's repair shop and Tattoo parlor" to get your water pump fixed on your car than the proper dealership? Maybe cause good ol' Buffalo Tom uses cheaper 'alternative' parts to replace your water pump and went to school for 6 months to get 'certified' to work on cars.. Then you have the dealership which is double...triple....maybe 4 times Buffalo Tom's price, but they use a part that is second to none on reliability, quality, and performance and the dealership mechanic went through a long training process, and is constantly taught the new and proper way to install a part to enlongate the products life and performance.
The tinting process in Fargo is no different than that scenario. You are paying to get a tint job done on your vehicle that requires removal of door panels, windows, interior panels, back seats, deck lids, speakers, etc.... You are paying for high quality adhesives used to spray on the film, you are paying for high quality film that will not fade to purple, you are paying for a tint job that will never bubble, crack, or peel. You are paying for an elite shop to tint your vehicle to such a high standard, that even if you PURPOSELY scratch your window, they will stand behind their work to ensure that you will ALWAYS be satisfied... If you can find me a shop that charges $150 or less for a full 4 door tint job, and offers the same warranty as we do (lifetime warranty against bubbling, peeling, fading to purple, scratches, light gaps, does one piece back windows, removes windows that roll up and down, and offers a very clean tint job) and has over 10 years tinting experience I will openly on any and all forums post that Fargo tint shops are a MAJOR RIP OFF... Until that day comes, please refer to the Buffalo Toms Tattoo parlor scenario.

no its not bogus, i forget the terminology but what you plan on doing is not kosher to say the least...If he knew you scratched it 10 years from the time you got it on im sure hed be more than willing to replace it, but if you do it over and over again he doesnt have to, its his lost business, but losing a customer like you is a benifit to the company.
